Crossed the border at Sumas and it was almost instantly white out conditions on the Trans Canada. I saw more ice fishing on this trip than I have in my entire life. Emerald Lake was as amazing as I imagined. Got some XC skiing in on the lake. And it was fun to see the ice rink at Lake Louise. The only other time I've been up to these parts was around the summer solstice. Pretty different experience around the winter solstice. Last time sunset photos were taken around 11pm this time around 4pm. The lack of light really directed our trip as we tried to avoid the mountain passes at night.

After leaving the national parks we hit up a natural hot spring in South East British Columbia. The cruiser handled the ~1200 mi trip flawlessly. Only hiccup was a stuck open hood hatch that I was able to solve in 2 mins with a big flathead. Weirdly my CEL code 28 for a bad o2 sensor (tested to be in spec per FSM before trip) went off about 180 miles from Seattle and has since stayed off. Not sure what that's about. I will say after driving in snow and slush and sand and salt and other Canadian Highway junk for 5 days my appreciation for the size of the windshield washer fluid bottle couldn't be overstated. One more way the 80 is overbuilt to handle severe duty.

In my LX that harness was hooked up to the factory car phone hardware. Now it looks like yours.

That was my guess as well but thought that was an LX only feature and his sig shows a 93. Maybe just one more of the shared ability of the harness construction

Any more info on this fauxwing or a link to the group buy? Im sure the GB is long gone but I'd still like to read about it. Looks like a nice setup.
This was a group buy put together by the local clubs, Olde North State Cruisers and Upstate Cruisers. The person that organized it has no interest in doing again just yet due to customs fiascos and extra fees.

Changed out transfer case oil.

I tried to get the running boards off my '97. Anyone have any tips on getting that rear top bolt out? I tried to use a 13mm wrench and can no get the angle to grave the bolt head. No room for a ratchet.

May have to get a swivel head ratcheting wrench.

Airing up after a club run with some of guys from TNTLC down a no winter access road. Was a beautiful sunny day. Only gasser out of the bunch...

Havent been pleased with my brakes lately. I attempted a flush but found that I couldnt get fluid through 3 of the 4 bleeders.

So this weekend I replaced all 5 of my bleeder screws (including the LSPV) with speed bleeders.

Then bled the brakes and got lots of fluid (and some air). Much better pedal now after about $30 and maybe 30mins of work.

My only complaint? The speed bleeders are 11mm. What? Who does that?

It's because they are a US product in SAE size. 7/16"

Took the maiden voyage in the HDJ81 since the build. Went up into Washington for a day of snow wheeling. Factory winch worked great after pulling out 2 different 2015 4Runners. I guess 3x lockers beats out crawl control. Then we spent some time sending copper jacketed lead down range!!!

Exploring on some very tame forest roads, and fat bike riding in the AZ mountains.
