This is awesome!!! Where can I get more info on this ? I have been wanting to look into this for a while but have yet to see it done. I converted a samurai years ago and it worked awesome.

Hey John, that's exactly what mine looks like after replacing my recently smashed hatch with the one off my green parts truck.. haha What color did you liner it? Did you sand and apply a white primer to green hatch before the bedliner?Cloth seats...
That's the color of the uppertail gate I bought for my '94 before I lined her...

This is pretty cool. Do you expect drastic fuel economy? What does a system like this cost?
Where'd the brake booster and MC go?

Looks great! I planned on doing my door handles in black also. Thanks for the info.
Yes, I already went to Finish Masters and bought the factory 045 white tint. Did you remove the door handles or tape them off? I was think about having my powder coated.I like end result of the black trim on the door handles.
Are you sticking with white on the body?
It doesn't go fast enough to push the water in!
I took the car to a local shop to have the control arm bolts loosened up. This guy is about 6'6" maybe 250 lbs. Up on the lift he put all his body weight on a 2 ft breaker bar and struggled to get them nuts loose.
They were on crazy tight.
As I mentioned earlier, got mu nuts fixed.
Then I thought I should tackle another job since I got all mu brake kit parts in (both front and rear discs and pads and a little later in the afternoon I received the extended brake lines from @beno ).
It took me a while to figure out the right way to jack up the front axle and get the jack stands in supporting the axle. All set, no return at that point.
Got the wheels out. Proceeded on with loosening all the bolts on the PS and tried to get the caliper out too. Grabbed my 17mm socket and got a good laugh. The bolt is 14mm. Hmmm, whatever. 14mm socket will do. Bolts came out easily, even had some nice grease on them. I like that kind of attention to details I said.
Took the pads out and checked the discs too for wear. My brakes were fine. No need to replace them. Wow, I really dodge a bullet this weekend.
Lets put everything back together and grab a beer.
I triple checked the torque specs on every nut and bolt in the FSM.
I re-watched Texasknowhow's video on the front brake job and the part in which he said in the past he never used a torque wrench and just over tighten everything since it's better not to fall off. I smiled. I got this. Got everything I need. sockets, wrenches, torque wrench, gloves, GoJo, cool beer in the fridge. I got this I said.
I set my torque wrench to 90 lb-ft and proceeded to tighten the caliper.
This is way too easy I said at one point. The wrench kept on turning, no click. Keep turning then. No real resistance either.
All os the sudden I heard a snap. Oh... snap!
The bolt snapped.
I can't extract that broken bolt out now. Called around not too many places open on Saturday afternoon.
Can't drive since I can't properly bleed the brakes. The rear DS bleeder is getting rounded, and I can't turn it. Damn. I'll take it to Pep Boys and use the e-brake. Yeah... >5000 lb car in traffic. Good idea. I got the ARB bumper up front. What's the worse that can happen? A Camry?
Anyway, I manage to bleed the rest of them, not fully satisfied with the pedal feel, but oh well, it'll do.
Took it there and got a phone call 1 hour later. I need a new caliper. SOB!
The SA tells me I used the wrong bolt. WTF? I used the bolt that came out of it, not the wrong one.
Then I remembered... 14mm.
Now they have to bleed it too, let the deal with it.
Oh yeah, and while you're there, here replace these brake line hoses too. I don't want to re-bleed the system at this point.
Tomorrow after I get it back, I'll do the fuel filter mod for the rear axle differential breather.
Not a whole lot that can go wrong there. Or... who knows? The e-brake handle needs to be adjusted too. Maybe I'll screw something else up tomorrow.
Geez I miss straddie, definitely need to head over next trip to brisvegas!Just got home from my first proper roadtrip! It was 2300km round trip, Home (Western Sydney), to Port Maquarie, to Byron Bay, Brisbane then to Stradbroke Island. Gold Coast, to Coffs Harbor, to Nelson bay then home! Was a good couple of weeks to spend with the family!! The big 80 did not dissapoint. Including beach driving, she did about 13.5l/100km. This is what my wifes Lexus RX350 gets just cruising around town.
Thats fully loaded with fridge, luggage, 2 kids, wifey and myself and with 35" Mud Tyres!
First ever time on sand, under estimated how soft the sand was, 40psi in tyres..and whats worse forgot to lock in the hubs hahah = STUCK! Dropped pressures to 25psi, locked in hubs max trax and I was out!
