Forgot to mention that I replaced my rear shocks. Previous weekend was the front shocks.

Definitely need springs all around. And tons of bushings. California is great for no rust but every bushing is dry rotted. I'll do them before the springs. On the plus side they will be easy to do without rusted bolts!

Yeah as much as I hate to say it, they really did hit a home run with the little focus RS. 350hp, all wheel drive, launch control, rear wheel drive bias drift mode, etc. I am sure it's a blast!

Went for a bike ride and found this American rally muscle car parked in front of me. I can finally say Ford got it right this time. View attachment 1299613

Finally installed my Uniden Pro 510XL CB.

It took quite a bit of slicing and filing to get it in there and it's a super tight fit. At least it won't vibrate loose when I'm on the washboard forest roads like my stereo.

I've noticed a grinding noise coming from the back sometimes when I'm braking, usually when pointed downhill. I pulled the calipers off today and everything looks normal. Plenty of pad still there and the rotors look fine. I put a little grease on the caliper pins on the DS because they looked a little dry. When rotating the hub forward or backwards to check for grinding sound I noticed some play and a clunk. Normal??

How'd you get your Kenwood deck to sit out in front of the dash? Mine is a little recessed. It's not horrible but it definitely looks like it doesn't belong. Yours looks a lot cleaner.

It's been "right" in Europe for years. My downstairs neighbor has an older one that he keeps tweaking. Love the sound of when he starts up in the morning.

I tried to peel off nice and clean, but I was all over the place! I might need a wheelie bar as well!... It must be the 1FZ powa! :flipoff2::bounce::bounce2:

was the wheel off the other side?

A lot of the hollow clunk sound is probably the hub on the other side moving slightly inside the rotor hat because it isn't clamped by the wheel/lugnuts.

Even then, there is a bit of slop in the splines/spider gears/diff/driveshaft/transfer case/etc. Could easily account for the play back and forth.

The other wheel was off. It was difficult to tell exactly where it was coming from but seemed to be the center diff. Just wasn't sure if it should have that much slop.

That's actually a Joying Android radio so not sure if the mount and depth are different.

Fired the opening salvo in what will be a long and carefully cultivated negotiation with my wife. The end goal: an 80 overland trip to Prudhoe during sabbatical. My sabbatical isn't for another 2yrs, so the timing was right to begin the discussion.

Opening dialogue went well, feels like there is a good chance for this one.
