Might be extra
Fired the opening salvo in what will be a long and carefully cultivated negotiation with my wife. The end goal: an 80 overland trip to Prudhoe during sabbatical. My sabbatical isn't for another 2yrs, so the timing was right to begin the discussion.

Opening dialogue went well, feels like there is a good chance for this one.

Might be extra power in numbers?

The young elk and I had a stare down...he won...we both moved on to tackle different trails.

Might be extra power in numbers?

It would be good to get a small group together. I am working with my bro and his wife to go (coming from OH.) There's good sense/safety in it being a group vs just one or two vehicles.

Replaced street tire with a bubble #2 at Discount Tire. Second time in 7 DAYS! Asked both shops to carefully inspect for more defective tires and none found either time. That only leaves one original street tire from the PO which I'm pretty sure has a bubble as I get a horrible vibe at 80 now! At least bubble tire #1 / vibe at 40 and bubble tire #2 / vibe at 60 are gone.

I got Slinkied.

Ran the Alpine Loop today from Ouray, then ran down yo Silverton. Fun drive and spectacular scenery!

While I may have had the coolest 80 in Silverton (because I was the only 80 in Silverton), I did NOT have the coolest Land Cruiser. That title belonged to this 55 three

Spent a week where I grew up in Canada. On kootenay lake in South Eastern BC. Drove up to this lookout. Below is the little town I grew up in.

Since I was denied admittance to Ouray due to HIH (why is there no 80s in the hills???) we cruised to Marble for the kiddos b-day. It's only our second year in Marble but it's quickly becoming a family tradition and is absolutely one of the big reasons for me purchasing an 80.

At any rate, good times were had, even when dealing with the dumb-shi*s that decided to run their rigs off the ravine into the head waters of the Crystal river heading in to Lead King Basin. Nothing like not putting up signs then proceeding to get an attitude with people when they wonder what's going on. While I applaud their efforts, drinking and smoking weed while wheeling, or trying to extract rigs, in the company of kids, pisses me off. (Rant off)

Again, great time with the family, the Cruiser was awesome although I think I still have more tweaking to do with the TPS and the ohm meter. On with the pics to tell the rest of the story.

What? You didn't get the Wit's End seat covers, courtesy of @NLXTACY that double as a hoody when your chilly in the mountains? Your loss.

Looking forward to our next family adventure and hoping it can compare to this one.

On with more improvements and upgrades to the memory making machine that is my 80.

Picked up some toys to test out and see why these foxes are getting rants and raves.

Also picked up my bump stops and steering stabilizers from KING for my 93 and 96

I took the family to Freeman Park for a day trip. It was a bit packed but fun none the less. I spotted another Cruiser near the entrance to the park but didn't have time to chat.

@mervo Where you really denied entrance? Lol

For some reason I think your serious.

Nah, just being facetious. I mentioned in the hundred forum a while back that I might swing by and was told they'd ignore me. I know they were kidding so I figured I'd throw it back at them a little.
