Finally got the hell outta Dodge for the first time this year :/

Two turbo yotas in their natural environment:

Didn't put any dents in the truck, but I put a few in myself (I call this the dirt beard):

On the way back out of the woods dove by another campsite that was left deserted with trash EVERYWHERE. Had to pull over and clean up somebody's mess for them. These ***cing out of towners are coming here, starting forest fires and trashing the place.

Sweet biff shot, impeccable timing.

And agreed on some people not picking up trash or considering LNT ethics.

@reevesci you may still have my contact info from the antenna mount, but please keep me in the loop on the tailgate storage. Looks great!

Jump started my 92 after my daughter left the lights on. I need to do an auto off mod on it. Anyone got a recommendation?

Drove her to my uncle's yard..

Finally got some time to fix some stuff that was broken from Rubithon...

The welds on these brackets from the carrier went caput...

Replaced them with 1/8th versus the 1/16 that was in there. And full weld this time.

I bent my tie rod in Rubicon as well, but those had a year old TRE's, so I straightened it and put it back in there...

I'm glad I bought this TRE puller. Wort the $12...

Post pics upon completion! Hoping to start down this road in the not too distant future.

@Heckraiser looks like you are riding a Norco Range 7.4C, if so I have the same bike. Also your crash is why I've switched to riding a full face helmet all the time now.

@mervo
I'll post some pics tomorrow of the frame and the start of the plywood top. The big plywood saw was broken at Home Depot so so I couldn't have them precut my top so I'll have to pick up a full sheet of plywood in my work van since a full sheet doesn't fit in my 80.

I might try mounting my drawer sliders as well just so I can get the rough measurements for the drawer itself and to get the sliders out of the house.

@bmwjnky are you not aware that the preferred home improvement retailer is Lowe's? They would've cut your plywood for you!

(I work for Lowe's)

@bmwjnky looking forward to pics of the sleep platform as well. I think this will be the route I take for now.

I prefer Lowes as well but the closest one is about 20min away, Home Depot is 2 miles away.

Just finished pulling the rear axles and hubs. They were very loose and had Timken bearings from the PO. They had a lot of oil in them from bad inner seals too.
Tomorrow I'm going to sandblast and powder coat the axle ends and the hubs. My new Koyo bearings should show up and I have new Toyota seals and gaskets. Also getting two new Spider Trax spacers. View attachment 1292093 View attachment 1292094
I did the same thing. If your bearings were loose make sure you check the underside of the spindle for wear. Consider retaining compound if there is enough wear to feel a lip on the spindle.

Swapped my rear coils out with longer ones for a heavier load... getting ready to haul four farm tables, benches, and who knows what else for our big day.

Love me some ute!

Mike,

Every time I see your rig I want to throw a canopy on it....

Some awesome snow driving over the weekend.

6 psi in the tyres got us there.
