I painted the hood and roof of the 93 after filling the factory rack holes.

It looks slightly less bad than the peeling paint. Definitely wish I had gone Monstaliner on the roof. And may just end up Monstaling the whole rig. My body work skills leave a bit to be desired.

I wet sanded the hood after this and it looks better but I will add another coat today. And need to black out the girl and chrome.

Trying to decide on a pair of 12 Ton jack stands.

The price is the same on both the Harbor Freight and Torin Big Red.
They are both made in China.

HF pair is slightly higher at it's minimum and maximum height. 19.5" - 30.1/8" vs Torin at 18.5" - 28"

I'm thinking the HF would higher and safer at it's minimum setting as I probably won't have to raise at all.

Which ones should I get? @ToyotaDon @JaketheSSnake

After using my Big Red 2 Ton jack stands raising the front end of my 80, like an idiot, I tend to trust the Big Red brand. Nothing happened. Still intact. Or maybe they did not really exceed their specs as only one wheel was off the ground, so it's possible no more than 2000 lbs were resting on the stand.

Do you need the higher max height? Not having to raise the vehicle so high before the stand will fit underneath appeals to me. Sometimes the bigger ones are not worth the extra hassle. FWIW, I like the Torin ones that I have.

Finally located my anoying under load exhaust leak, doughnut in the #2 colleter to y pipe. So swapped out both of the Magnaflow units to OEM with new nuts. So far so good will go back in a few days to a week after a few heat cycles and re-torque them..

I installed some window vent visors and did a trans filter/fluid change. Hoping to install some 1" wheel spacers tomorrow.

12 ton jack stands are the way to go IMO. I don't even use my 6 tons anymore. 12 tons are the only way I can get full droop on the suspension without killing myself. I wish I had taller stands because working on the rear suspension can be scary as the frame is even higher off the ground out back.

With tires mounted, my 60" high-lift is barely tall enough to release tension on the coilovers so I can adjust them

@HAAANK and @bloc

Ordered the brake fluid reservoir cap today. They had it in Kansas City so I'll have it tomorrow. $14. And ordered a new gas cap. The PO had replaced it with a non OEM one and it was bugging me. It was not $14!!

@jtwopark and @Qball came over. John was having overheating problems the entire trip to Monache. 222* and holding. John said it was a brand new blue hub from Toyota less than 3 months old.

I knew it was the clutch. I had a defective unit out of the box which is likely what his was. We cracked it open to find basically no fluid inside. Like...not even enough to soak through the paper towel.

Dumped in 60mL of 30kCST and it roars like a lion! :P

I just don't want to raise them. So the 12T ones being higher all the way down compared to a 6T one raised 4 inches, I'll take the 12T for that reason.

If you lived in Iowa you could get a farm kid to just bench press your 80. There are some farm strong offensive linemen out here.

Is that what you collected off the @LS1FJ40 's blanket?

Built/customized/modified front seat arm rest.
I started with this universal, Chinese arm rest available at this ebay listing (it only comes in gray or black and the listing is set to automatically accept a $25 best offer), I took them apart, painted them with rust-oleum painters touch 2x ultra cover satin. Its a pretty close match to oak. I covered the padded arm rest with some fabric I found at the mill-end store, and its a pretty close match to stock. The original lid has been replaced, my lid fabricated from 1" plywood, covered with foam and more of the same fabric. The under side (black portion) is Kydex. I used the stops and latch from the original lid, and a piece of piano hinge. All in all, im pretty happy with the fit/form/function of it. The arm rests are pretty cheaply made, the different plastic parts are all from different die lots so even if you want to attempt this for a gray interior, you may want to paint for uniform color. Its a very comfortable height, and I like being able to engage/disengage e-brake and access the interior compartment.

She's back supporting her own weight. Now I just need to make shock mounts, finish the steering add the hydro assist.
