Very interesting. I always thought the test thing would be a pain. I guess I should consider that, thanks.
All I did was watch these videos and took practice test on QRZ.com

Just wrapped up what was, in my opinion, a major ordeal. Full front axle service. Took me 4 days. About $1100 in parts and fluids. Cleaned EVERYTHING.
View attachment 1274406 Finished unloading from last weeks epic 4 day rubicon trip where I took no pics because I left my phone on the back of my trailer at Loon lake! After three weeks strait of cruiser reconstruction after rollover (far from finished) is nice to take a break from it. I learned that it's possible, but hard to believe, that I could actually get tired of spending time with my triple locked mistress.
Sound advice. I'll do it. Thanks. While everything's clean, take the opportunity to paint some white marks on the knuckle studs and nuts so you can glance down and see if anything is backing off. Lots of people report problems AFTER a rebuild.. even with lots of attention to detail getting everything right.

Side note.. I was averaging 15mpg at 70mph on the freeway.. I'm certain the part-time kit helped that to some extent. Drawback? no center diff means the truck is much more likely to plow straight ahead in a very tight downhill turn in deep sand.. almost making you roll off a very high, very steep trail. I BARELY got out of that. And it is making me seriously consider a rear winch. My front mount did ZERO good in that situation.
You all realize this picture will end up on a Jeep forum, right?
Just one more great thing about our 80 series is the pin 7 mod enabling center diff disengagement while in low range for those situations requiring the tightest turning radius possible or the one that @bloc found himself in. This is why I see now true advantage to going part time.Part time is relatively new maybe 93+ before then part time was all we had. Also given the conditions you should of been in 4WD anyway, right?

A part time 80 will turn sharper than a full time with center diff disengagement, I experience it all the time as @bloc does being part time. Plus in deep, steep sand you want to be in 4WD so you can turn was my point.
Fixed my wiper arms that came loose. (Yay, wipers work again)
Attempted my first fix at sanding, bondo, and painting on a old rusted scratch from the PO. Apparently hoodrats attempted to steal the LC badge and gouged a 6" flathead screwdriver scratch down the hatch. All was going well until the painting.... Guess I'll have to sand and paint again... Damn it.
However, I did add another sticker thanks to @beno
