With the installation of its original BURT Englewood badge….I finally finished my restoration after 5 years of learning, victories and defeats.
The goal was to create a mostly stock unit reliable enough (and comfortable enough) for daily driver/road trip use until I get put six feet under and my son inherits it.
Special thanks to @Gretsch @John McVicker @tmxmotorsports @NeverGiveUpYota @CenTXFJ60 @orangefj45 @Skniper @Vasopressor @Godwin @red66toy @BHillteq @dnp @NearJetties @cps432 @Scro @4Cruisers @TheNeek @WoodnotRust @Fourrunner @63FST plus all of the other authors of threads that guided me through.

Ben, glad to see the work is winding down. You’ve done some incredible work. Funny enough, we have a brown 84 that came with that same “Bert Toyota” badge. Could use some work itself, but saving the badge in the glovebox for when that day comes.

Just returned from 1200 mile road trip to North Shore of Lake Superior. The old 60 did just fine. 🥰 🦖

Thanks for documenting this build here. Been great to watch and follow along with and I know many folks will benefit from the knowledge contained within. Truck turned out great and I think you have ended up with one of the best drivetrain combos available. Now to go enjoy it. Congrats man. Beautiful truck.

Please put the White Rim Trail in the Canyonlands on your bucket list...

I just came back from a week trip offroading between Moab and Yellowstone.

Decided to wing it and try and get a campground + permit for the white rim trail and I lucked out. Man how amazing that area is...

I did parts of Kokopelli and some other trails higher up in the mountains above Moab for some cooler nights.

From there I drove north and did miles and miles of trails a little east of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons..

Incredible solo adventure...

On my way back driving towards the town of West Yellowstone I had this awesome 55 behind me! what are the odds.

Went to the Cloverdale Mine near Hillside, CO. Cool converted 4WD Dodge van and ice flowing out of the mine entrance. The road is about all a stock FJ62 can do. Great fun - but hit a dead tree with a tire. The tire then smacked the snake blinder and then swung up and clocked the rear door (lightly) and mirror. Dinner was fried potatoes and BBQ pork on the Coleman 425.

Next day, went to the summit of Hermit Pass and hiked to the WWII plane crash (difficult hike). While on the summit, I got a Marmot paw print on my mud flap - I think he was high-fiving me.

Are those the 17x7 TRD wheels? What size tires and did you need spacers?
No

do they sit too much inward or maybe is jus me...funky camera angle maybe? cant decide. Also....EASILY clear the TREs, which is why i needed to swap wheels to begin with. and i didnt wanna use spacers.

That is a great price, I really like the look of these on the cruiser. I wish they came in 16x8 but alas. I have fairly new Falken wildpeak ATs and dont want to buy new tires. Besides I have been looking at the offerings from Fifteen52 and Black rihno. They make some pretty sick looking wheels.

I had same issue with new Wild Peaks lol... but they were tearing up my TREs. so...bit the bullet. I got for $166/wheel...which I thought was very reasonable considering the price of other options. I really like the TRD look too...

Yeah, putting modern wheels on a vintage truck can be a real eye sore sometimes but these things are shweeeeeeet!!

Totally agree...+ everytime someone posted a pic of a more "traditional" wheel option i kept thinking...Shiatttt shldve got those lol. But honestly, at $165/per (and i "needed" 5) i think i really dig em + theyll fit right in with upcoming updates as well!!
