is that lower anchor point attanched to an existing factory bolt or did you had them burned in a new one ????

I bought some 1/8" by 3" by 28.5" Cold Finished steel plate from Speedy Metals (Speedy Metals Online Industrial Metal Supply - https://www.speedymetals.com/)

I drilled four 7/16" holes in the plate to run the lap belt bolts through the plate and had some longer (1.25") 7/16" diameter bolts from Seat Belt Planet to use in place of the shorter, factory 3/4" (or 1"?) bolts. I had replaced my front seat belts with Seat Belt Planet ones (because they no longer retracted or locked) and the 1.25" long 7/16" diameter bolts came with the replacement seat belt kit, although the longer bolts can also be bought separately in one of their "hardware" kits. I used the old, factory, 90 degree front seat belt anchors that bolt to the floor behind the front seats as the tether anchors once I filed them to fit the car seat's tether hook and had Bob at Elco Welding weld them in place for me.

Here are some photos of the steel plate before I filed and drilled it

and once I mounted it under the rear seat belt mounts

There has to be enough space on your plate to clear the floor of the cargo area to allow your tether hooks to hook under the anchors you will use. I think the steel plate I used at 3" was wide enough to clear about 1.25" of the floor of the cargo area. it was to this "cleared" space of plate that I had the 90 degree belt/tether anchors welded to.

I made the measurements to fit the car seats I have, below, but you may want to double check your measurements on the tether anchor attachment/weld points for your specific seats.

I also used grade 8 washers between the body of the truck and the plate and between the lock washer and the lap belt anchor to achieve some desired spacing and mounting surfaces between these parts, hence the longer 1.25" 7/16" bolts to replace the factory lap belt bolts.

Installed Add a leafs to the existing OME suspension. 2 on Driver side and 1 on passenger. I had a little lean to the driver and a little squat after I installed the rear dobinson bumper. Hoping this will remedy it. I ran out of steam so it is still on jack stands. Will torque everything tomorrow set it down and torque again.

Did the first oil change on the new engine, transmission, transfercase and also did the differentials.
After that I swapped out my CB radio for a GMRS with a 3ft firestick antenna. Just waiting on the antenna mount bracket to show up and it will be all set.

Finally, I got my "air conditioning"... "installed"... along with a beaded seat cover to make the vinyl seats a bit more comfortable in the heat. (Good call on the seat cover @EasternYeti )
Hopefully these help with the drive through Nevada and Utah to SAS 5 next month.

I am very happy with this paint match for the FJ62 dash. Got this black metallic from Autozone. It was way too shiny. Wet sand with 600 grit and cut down the gloss… about as good as it’s going to get. All the greys or graphite’s were too light. Black was the key. I’m very happy. Only took me 4 different cans of spray paint to get this project done. Hahaha

May I ask what the difference between CB and GMRS radio are ?? Would really like to know. 👍

Replaced rear shock frame crossmember, added an extra leaf in the rear, adjusted front caster and toe in.
Fine tuning the ride, getting ready for a cut and turn..

Rear leaf helped level out the rear, was a tad too soft, rides nice now. Air bags in future for sure.

More or less it operates at a higher power output and a different frequency than CB, but still uses fixed channels like a CB. There is a big difference in clarity, sorta like comparing AM and FM radio. I don't see the point of spending the time to learn about and get certified for HAM for what I use the radios for, so this is a good compromise between power and simplicity in my opinion.

I'm sure someone who knows more about radios will reply if I omitted anything.

Took the family and a lot of gear up to Southern Colorado for the long weekend. Truck did great on the 425 mile round trip.

Well, I had ambitious plans to move my front axle forward about 1.5" to prevent the rubbing I was having in the rear of the fender well.
After a hard look and figuring it was going to be a mountain of work with the existing front shackle reversal I decided just to cut the fenders.
Still need to fine tune and cap the fender but all in all it's gonna work out just fine.

The old weather stripping was not sealing well. I use this Super Lube on gaskets at work and decided to try on the old weatherstripping.

It softened the weather stripping and made it seal like new. No more noise from the air coming in around the weatherstripping.

Couldnt figure out why my license bulbs weren't working despite it having new bulbs. Multimeter also showed it getting power. After some fiddling, turns out the bulb ground socket was bent. Bent it back and my lights worked.

With the installation of its original BURT Englewood badge….I finally finished my restoration after 5 years of learning, victories and defeats.
The goal was to create a mostly stock unit reliable enough (and comfortable enough) for daily driver/road trip use until I get put six feet under and my son inherits it.
