Took it shopping. Fourth of July is like Christmas for pyros.

Escaped the heat wave to camp the Mt Hood/Adams area for the weekend, no good truck photos but here's one from a surprisingly good brewery (Solara) in a small town (Parkdale). Excellent natural process peach sour. Really need to get the AC serviced though, driving home in 115 F was like being inside a convection oven. I think I drank 2 L of water in two hours.

Finally tackling my dash restoration.
Instrument surround sourced from Toyota
Lower valence cracks and broken tabs fixed with Plastex kit
Sand, SEM adhesion promoter and Rustoleum Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze
It ain’t perfect but love how it came out.

Hey all, what is the correct grey paint for the FJ62 dash plastic? I tried the graphite SEM paint that others have listed and still way too light. That was SEM 15303.

Here is a comparison using the piece you are holding which I hadn’t painted yet vs the dash valence which I had painted.

Wow. Never would have guessed oil rubbed bronze! I thought you were painting your dash a different color. Thanks so much! Now to order some.
Thank @WoodnotRust
He figured it out 👍

Finished it all up.
Painted the gauge needles, polished the gauge lenses, painted the lower valence and re-decal’d the light and turn signal stalks.

Finally found the loose wire that was keeping my radio from working. Apparently there is as a CB, CD player, and TV in this truck with a switch to run audio through the speakers for each unit. Now I just have blue tooth and cd. Hopefully fewer gremlins...

Replace the thermostat in my old trusty FJ60 only to have a bolt snap off, from a decade of rust. Now I’m waiting for any advice from members as to how I can remove the rest of the bolt. After removing the old thermostat, it looks like it was still working. But no matter, I will replace it, then probably install the new aluminum radiator and water pump. And cut the fan shroud in half so it can be easily removed and re-installed.
