Right now it’s just sitting there. I was thinking I would drill holes in the plywood where the cargo hooks go, remove the hooks, and drill a 3x3” or so square of 1/8” plate with the same hole pattern and use that for a washer on top of the plywood and bolt it down that way. I will need to sink the whole thing into the plywood for the drawer side mounts (or route slots for the bolt heads in the drawer bottoms), as I don’t plan to use any sliders in the drawers, just wood on wood. This will minimize cost, maximize space and make it very easy to remove the drawers (thinking removeable kitchen drawer with legs) or swap for a different drawer for different applications. Also the whole drawer side (or fridge side) can be removed separately as the need arises.

That's exactly what I am thinking for the tie downs. Then I'll route grooves in the top for seat track style tie downs. I agree on drawer slides. I am thinking I will sand them nice and smooth and add some teflon strips to make them slide a little better. I'm on the fence about a removable kitchen drawer. I want my finished height pretty low (wheel well height) and that doesn't leave much room. But as you pointed out, once you get the frame built, the drawers themselves are modular and you can play with it as needed.

I am willing to pay for some things, but I can get all of the tools I need and enough materials to mess it up a few times for what a set of pre-made drawers cost, and when I finally get it like I want it, I will still have the tools. And as you point out. I can make modular drawers or change my mind about the set-up.

Installed an Inclometer! Should the bulb have a green cap over it so the back light matches the gauges?

Towed my FJ60 parts vehicle rolling chassis (turns out it's an '85 with a September '84 build date, I thought it was an '84 all the years since I bought it - doh!) from New Mexico to my place in Nevada. Later this spring it'll be heading to California so it can live on keeping other Land Cruisers alive.

Stopped for fuel at the Safeway in Kingman and saw this beauty, IH8MUD sticker and all :). Will post the photos in the FJ55 forum also. Wonder where it's going?

Ordered and installed some extra door trim seals from @reevesci .
They went on easy and took the tight corners perfectly. Closing the door you can tell these things are forming a tight seal! Excited to hear less wind noise.

Having some work done on a full-length 7'x5' Conferr roof rack I scored from a fellow Mudder here in AZ. Major refurb and it's the rack I've always wanted for my 62. Started a thread here: Con-Ferr Rack Rebuild for FJ62

I finished up my passenger side knuckle, all new rotor, studs/nuts and caliper, ss brake line and short hard brake line made by me, down sized to stock rim and 31’s.... and then started in on driverside knuckle. Got everything off and in EvapoRust and cleaned the knuckle before calling it a day. (Photo is from before I’d cleaned it w/ a wire cup).

Just realized I did an oops.... I put the left caliper on the right. God damn, doesn’t that just piss me off.

Linked up with folks from Colorado Landcruisers at Walsenburg CO. Then drove north of Gardner CO to the Mission Wolf sanctuary. Got to see some old friends and make some new ones.

We also provided entertainment for three of the wolves when we entered their pen and hung out for a while.

@MANUCHAO, man you’ve got a lot of different happening in that 60 dash. What’s the wheel from? 4Runner?

Wolves? Honestly? Pictures or it didn’t happen. ;)

No pictures.....but if I'm lying I'm dying. Can give you a link: Mission: Wolf

Before we were escorted into the pen we got a briefing on how to interact with the critters. One caution was cameras. Seems a visitor had a $500 camera which caught the attention of a wolf who took it. They do not give stuff back.

Forgot to mention wolf manners requires swapping spit. Seems a friendly greeting for them is to bare your teeth so the other critter can identify what you had for lunch. Sniff the teeth then give them a lick. I managed to close my mouth before I got licked on the kisser.
