First time repairing a rust patch today. It's a 50/50 repair, as in looks good from 50ft away while moving 50mph. Even though it didn't turn out great it still looks better than rust and I learned a lot from the experience. I might go back one day and re-do it. Until then, I've got a lot more rust to practice on.
No pictures.....but if I'm lying I'm dying. Can give you a link: Mission: Wolf
Before we were escorted into the pen we got a briefing on how to interact with the critters. One caution was cameras. Seems a visitor had a $500 camera which caught the attention of a wolf who took it. They do not give stuff back.
Forgot to mention wolf manners requires swapping spit. Seems a friendly greeting for them is to bare your teeth so the other critter can identify what you had for lunch. Sniff the teeth then give them a lick. I managed to close my mouth before I got licked on the kisser.
And today we took the Cruiser for a ride up North to a game farm you can drive through. The little man really enjoyed it! (Hopefully as much as we did watching him!)
Just run to a farm and ranch and buy a section of hog panel they are 10 ga and have either a 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 mesh. Also in 4 and 5' widths. If you want thicker, head to a concrete supply store (some steel suppliers will have the mesh in up to 1/4") and they will shear to your spec.

Already did . Just kicking around the best way to attach it. I may cut out sections and set it inside the tube flush with the bottom, and just weld every wire. That would be cleanest.
Over the last month and a bit have finished the following for our next road trip .
Removed the rear panels under the windows and installed abs sheet goods.
This required installing nut-certs , cutting threaded rod studs to align holes , white wax on ends of rods to mark on the abs panels.
Used truss head screw to fasten the panels.
Fabricated 1/2 Baltic birch pivoting shelves on either side of our build in cabinets.
Relocated the solar plug in cable for input to the batteries.
Installed new ac out let and also dc outlet with USB plugs to the left of cabinets at rear.
Under rear windows installed tie down rails for securing cargo with tie-downs.
Finished the front grill mod as the clearances were a bit tight after the install of the inter-cooler.
This was simply grinding , grinding and more grinding of the plastic.
Fabricated a new center console where the gear levers are.
This has new leather for both shift levers.
New AC outlet , dual USB, along with a cig plug. Has a voltage display for the DC.
Installed a Victron Energy 700 to monitor status of batteries. Has Blu tooth read out, very cool. But haven't installed the shunt yet.
Switches for the following. New auxiliary LED front lights, front and rear camera, three way switch. Inverter remote on/off.
Map pouches at passenger foot well.
Led footwell lights when doors are open. This was a pain in the a$$.
VHF installed along with custom SS bracket for antennae.
Still a few things to do to the truck before .............heading south.
No pictures, but crossed a ton off my list thanks to many pictures, threads and suggestions from Mud members.

I had these lights given to me and wasn't sure how to mount them on my pristine (Ha!) front bumper, it is bent down pretty good from PO. Since I'm driving it to the Lonestar Toyota Jamboree next week I thought it might be nice to have some extra lighting.
Bent some scrap 1" tube and mounted it to the lower holes in the frame rails. Two 3/8" lower mounts and two 3/16 X 1.5" strap on the top. Very sturdy mount and completely removable with minimal effort.
Also made a wheel step as 35" tires make changing sparkplugs on the V8 a little out of reach.

I source it from McNichols. 18 guage uncoated / raw 1" square steel. I purchase 12' X 6' pieces for my business. We build machine spacific safety guarding for manufacturing that is OSHA compliant. This was scrap.
They have quite a few options for materials and will cut to spec. My closest supply for this is in Garland, TX. Might be one near you.

I like those lights...I plan to keep stock bumpers, just like the look, but would like to add additional lighting. What size/brand are those and if your bumper was not bent would you of just mounted them there?
