Our group did Engineer Pass, California Pass, Hurricane Pass, and Corkcrew Pass from Ouray and back. 90% of the time after we left Animas Forks and before we got to Corkcrew Pass was in dense fog and clouds, so we didn't see too much in the way of scenery. @POTATO LAUNCHER kept telling us how great the views would have been had it been clear :). But we'll be back.

I was fortunate to have good views. I did engineer pass over to lake city for lunch then cinnamon pass to animas forks. Then California pass to hurricane pass then silverton. From silverton I went over Ophir to telluride. That was a loong day.

Did about a 1000 miles run down and back to Eastern OR for the eclipse with @xtiaan2000 who flew up from S. CA for the trip meet up with @Kleatus and @lovetoski

We ended up on top of Marble Pass between Baker City and Sumpter. The area outside of Sumter is all old gold mining and really cool.
If your looking to explore a place this would be it.

I think there needs to be another Seattle Crusier Head trip to that area.

nice pic!

I have a similar idea to install some lights on the upper tailgate to illuminate the lower gate since we use it as our kitchen so much while camping. curious - how'd you get power to those? and tips/tricks you'd be willing to share?

Powder coated and Rigid lights installed, now its time for the Come up to be installed (still have to do the wiring but waiting to do the second battery)! Also put on the 4runner wiper upgrade.

Jury is still out. I think I'm going to have to have some custom wedges made. I worked the ones that came with them but the spots hit only about 6 feet in front of the vehicle.

Pulled off the Yakima bars. Also got a working vac advance pot installed on my dizzy. Broke out the vacuum gauge and checked for any leaks and used it along with the timing light to find the sweet spot.

First test run had very slight pinging under load so I backed off the timing a bit. Running great now!

Lights are a mobile set from Power Practical the 10 ft length.

Luminoodle Light Rope

I'm running off a Goal Zero battery pack (Sherpa 50) So no wires run yet. I plan to run a rear fuse box in a quarter panel and then have runs to Blue Sea ports on either side up high. So that these could plug in easily.

Pass bagging day trip yesterday with my buddy who bought my FJ40 and his brother in a Range Rover.

Main objective was Tincup Pass which we crossed from the St Elmo side. Wanted to stay on dirt as much as possible on the return leg so the route was: Cumberland Pass, then Wuanita Pass, then Black Sage Pass, then Old Monarch Pass back to Hwy 50.

Tincup was a lot rougher than I remember it being 10 years ago.

Fun day, long day - departed Canon City at 8 AM, got back at 9 PM.

I see on their website they have one of the uses as stringing it up for working under the hood. Do you think it would throw enough light to make it truly useful for that in the garage? Older I get the more light I need and a lot of shop options are expensive

We took several. I have not yet paid for the silver privileges on this site so cannot post anything.

House hunting - been busy since the SAS.

Pics as requested.....

I bought my Cruiser in Calgary for the right price. It has spray can black rocker-guard type paint all over it but the job was pretty poorly done and it's coming off first thing. I should have enough money left over to at least get somewhat proper paint on it. The PO was a bit trigger happy and sprayed a lot of the chrome pieces with black paint. Luckily its come off pretty easy so far. Apparently cold-weather diesel anti-gel works really well as a paint thinner... paint needs my tender love and care, but the frame and power/drivetrain are doing great!

The first couple pics show it as I received it and the last couple show it after I stuck the mudders in the back and put on the more road-oriented tires for the drive. My plans are to keep this as a 4WD "bush-truck" and you can see that it has some bush-truck accoutrements/cut fenders, etc. but I'm excited to finally have a diesel cruiser.
