We are taking reservations for the GX 470 tank ($1,595) and taking orders for the HD Nomad Valve Body Kit ($1,295) and TC Lock Up Kit ($595). Not on the website yet, but folks can call with questions at 1-800-224-7801

Please be sure to kick off a separate thread if a Group Buy ever happens for the VB and TC lock-out......I'm not on Mud much as of late but wouldn't want to miss out if you get the bugs ironed out with @DanKunz 's rig and this looks to be a sound upgrade. thx!

Thanks, great suggestion, will do.

The valve body fit like a glove, no issues. The only bug for the transfer case lock up kit was remapping the wiring connections for the install.

Wholesale Automatic Transmissions have been doing these kits for a long time and the products are mature and proven. That said, the TC kit requires separate wiring instructions for each vehicle application, as chassis wiring varies by model and year. Next up is to fit the TC kit to a 4th Generation 4Runner - will be interesting to see how closely the wiring maps of the GX and 4Runner line up.

@orangefj45 and the crew at Valley Hybrids work closely with Rodney, Jono and the Wholesale Automatics crew to suss out the correct pin map for each new US application.

The VB+TC kit combination is probably one of the top three mods for the Prado based platform - 120 or 150. For on-road, towing and trail, we see brakes, tires and transmission as key drivability/safety upgrades.

Group buys and large scale specials are possible and we can offer some savings on the VB+TC package but we need to gear up. That is, in order to offer (for example) 50 kits for sale, we first need to purchase that number of rebuildable valve body cores, ship them and get them rebuilt. We have good sources and good prices, but we need to collect the cores, get them shipped and then wait for the crew in Bayswater to turn them around and then get them shipped back.

In the meantime, we are open for business, have the kits in stock and would love to help upgrade your GX.

Thanks!

Ward and Georg

Thought you guys might like this one... been struggling with a good way to mount the mic for the ham radio, didn't want to drill any holes or stick stuff to the dash. Then this idea of using magnets hit me... works killer, and totally invisible. The pictures pretty much tell the how to, took 15 minutes hardest part was waiting for the JB Weld to dry.

Great place to put it as well. I did something similar for my Silverado for my cell phone. In that case I used an old hard drive magnet on the backside of the console. The phone then had one of those steel plates that fit between the case and the phone.

I need this in the worst way! I have been putting the mic in the pocket that replaces the old shock dial. But it always falls out.

Did you drill the hole in the magnet on the CB mic?

Had the timing belt, radiator, fan clutch, thermostat, water pump, upper/lower hoses, and spark plugs done at 125,000. Nothing failing, but mechanic said the radiator was on its way out. Blows coooold

Yeah it feels good to get all that preventive maintenance done.

Good result tonight. The “Boys” looked good. Pretty decent turnout as well considering...

I drove 4 teammates to our hockey tournament on Sat....5 guys, hockey equipment and sticks. Was packed....really need to get a roof rack!

Been looking at racks as well. Might just throw a basket up there.

Did you have to open the KDSS valve when replacing the bushing? How difficult was this?
I did not. Nor did I look up the FSM procedure.
I started on driver side, unbolted it and worked the bracket off, the the sway bar arm extended, so I put a floor jack under and jacked it back up into position with the new bushing on the bar. A little more fiddling with the pass side was needed but it worked out fine.

I have a little driver side KDSS lean but had that before.

Today I removed the rear spoiler and installed the OEM 3rd brake light. Sourced it from PartSouq.com, Toyota P/N 81570-60081 - it arrived from UAE in 4 business days for less than $11 shipping. I'll do another post when I properly fill the holes.

Combined with having my peeling pearl white roof paint repaired & repainted recently, I can finally put my Gamiviti rack back on and get some lights for the rear w/o hassling with the spoiler.
