Hi Everyone, writing from Hyderabad, India. Not a motorhead, became an LC fan due to my best friend in the USA, and finally got my hands on a used LC Prado. I have got the car and am learning new things every day, some of them make me happy, some of it is confusing. Will structure my thoughts well so I can get clear feedback.
1. Model & The Make - Since it was imported in 2006 - 2007. To save taxes, etc., there may have been some adjustments made. So want to clarify to make it easy for me to source parts - It's the J 120, but the frame number mentioned on the Aluminium VIN plate is KJZ95, the engine mentioned on the 1 KZTE - is this legit? Were there such models in 2006, that is, with the J 120 looking model? Attaching picture below;
Engine Number - 1KZTE
Frame - KJZ95XXXXXXXX
Model - KH-KZJ 95W GKPET
Mfg as per RC (India) - May 2006
2. Engine - While I assume it's the KZTE engine, I was checking Chat GPT and it sayd the branding of D4D on the engine makes it believe that it is the FKD engine. What do I go with? I am not able to locate the engine number on the engine block. will keep trying with other mechanics but wanted to ask the experts here.
3. Turbo waste Gate pipe has been cut and one end from the engine is left open where white smoke comes and the other end is bolted shut. Why the could be the case? the mechanics say it's not a consern as the speed and power are still good but I am a bit OCD and want the car and engine to be as close to stock as possible? Will I find more issued if I get the hose connected?
4. Any tips on part sourcing and link to the owner's repair manual for this model (where I can source part numbers) as the previous did not give me anything, will be appreciated.
