I suppose most junk yards know about supply and demand for the 8.2 rear axles….

Have to replace the housing. But for you? Just grab front and rear out of a 460 with the CVs, etc. You get the 3.91 gearing and ATRAC and everything else works and it bolts right up (unless you have a 470 with KDSS or you want to keep a sway...

So everything is sorted on the GX (except a little front output shaft leak on the tcase that will get sorted this week). I can only really think of a few more things to do. Flat belly (modify OEM tank situation) 3 link it 3 stick it I am going...

He has done nothing but good stuff on Facebook. I find it a little disturbing how hard the other bump manufacturers came for him when he started selling and made a legit comparison to the competition.

Yeah, it is a one and done CV. Like I said, if you break CVs, IF, this is a good answer if you plan to stay stock width.

I would actually recommend that 677v for the OP with kings up front. Especially if the rear is kings and spec'd for long travel. The nice thing about Dobs is the rear springs are indeed a pain in the ass to install, but a set is like $250 and...

What is up front? The balance is interesting because if you go to heavy in back is pushes down the front and you get a battle to balance.

Do you have a total cost on this? I run the first LRA for GX470s in the 33 gal and armored it up. Wife has the 24. Interested in a price compare.

What are in your drawers? I have moved over to the heavy series in dobinson progressive springs. I started with the 701v which is probably the one for you. The 749 is a bit heavier. I am running the 849 on my 470.

Or if you plan to stay stock width with a 34+ tire you can get Lotus CVs ($$). I ran these for literally years, including the rubicon and more and never lost a CV or a boot.

GXO replied to the thread Lexus GX470 CV Axles.
There are several ways to tell. The easiest is the inner axle cup often has different shapes and indents vs oem. and the axle shaft on non-oem are usually raw metal. CVJ and OEM are often painted/coated and usually have a sticker unless someone...

It will likely keep the quiet for a long time. The bigger issue with Icon is that they like to be clean. Don't leave them dirty and throw some lube on the shaft to keep those orings happen.

GXO replied to the thread GX470 LOCKERS!!.
After several years....the 150 8.2 is for sure way stronger than the 120 8" rear. I have seen no amount of build in an 8" that will hold off failure in hard wheeling.

GXO replied to the thread Squeaky Front right Icon Strut help!.
How old are the icons? The rubber oring on the shaft seal could be hardening if they have been run for a while or seen hard duty use. Try squirting some WD or triflo on the shaft and cycling the suspension. If the squeak lessens, it is likely...

I have it in my 03 GX. Nomad Valve Body HD lets you add on a TCC lockup button. Works amazingly well towing.

ACC has one on his wife's 460 so they have it. May just be working on production.
