So everything is sorted on the GX (except a little front output shaft leak on the tcase that will get sorted this week). I can only really think of a few more things to do.

I would actually recommend that 677v for the OP with kings up front. Especially if the rear is kings and spec'd for long travel. The nice thing about Dobs is the rear springs are indeed a pain in the ass to install, but a set is like $250 and...

It will likely keep the quiet for a long time. The bigger issue with Icon is that they like to be clean. Don't leave them dirty and throw some lube on the shaft to keep those orings happen.
After several years....the 150 8.2 is for sure way stronger than the 120 8" rear. I have seen no amount of build in an 8" that will hold off failure in hard wheeling.
How old are the icons? The rubber oring on the shaft seal could be hardening if they have been run for a while or seen hard duty use.
Try squirting some WD or triflo on the shaft and cycling the suspension. If the squeak lessens, it is likely...
