My 2003 GX470

I recently purchased a very nice GX470 from some local folks that literally treated it as a child. I was happy to see a full service history, including a new cooling system (radiator), all interval maintenance done, etc. When I got her she was bone stock.

I started feeling the itch for wheeling again, so I was searching around. I saw Lexwoody, BonnerBB, etc. and their iterations of lifts, tires, mods, etc. and my hopes lifted. I bought this truck because it is a Prado underneath.

Updated:

2 x Iron Man TOY056C front springs

2 x Iron Man TOY056C rear coils
2 x rear FJ upper spring cups (GX does not have spring cups or perches)
2 x custom fabbed lower spring perches/ramps for rear axle

1 set ASFIR Prado 120 series aluminum skid plates (front, t-case, belly/gas)
FOURTREKs protective washers to the skid bolts

5 x 285/70/17 Goodyear Dura-Tracs

1 x Iron Man Prado front commercial deluxe bar

1 x Iron Man 4x4 fridge/freezer combo with 10 gauge hard wired and fused power

Nice looking ride!! What kind of tires are those? Did you replace the air suspension with coil springs and OME shocks? What type? My wife has a 2006 and I'm thinking if/when the air suspension goes out to replace it with coils/OME shocks.

I did not use OME. I replaced the airbags, this was not a small project. I used Iron Man 4x4.

Those are Goodyear Duratracs, 285/75/17, which are just shy of 34"

Cool to see someone use something other than OME (not considering coilovers). Looking forward to the build as I'm slowing building my GX as well.

Who carries Iron Man products in the US and what shock/coils model#'s did you use? I love the way it came out and would love to do the same.

Thanks!

I will share a lot more detail when I get it back. I want to actually wheel it and approve of the performance before I chat it up too much

Just got it home. Rides amazing, looks amazing. I am really glad I opted for the completely custom sliders vs. trying to make something else fit.

That looks great!! Nice job. Don't forget to post the shocks and coils after you wheel it.

Yep! We go next weekend and the weekend after that. I will share a whole lot more then. This is a full replacement with real coils and shocks all around...including completely fabricating the rear spring system. It also has a full skid plate system made of aluminum and some really amazing one of a kind sliders with some MAJOR beef to them.

Man, I really need to start building up my GX as well! I've been putting much time into my FJ80 and the GX has been neglected all week.

Phase II for the GX will be even better...front bumper, dual batteries, winch, snorkel, and some other odds and ends. Just have to save up!

Looks good. What did you use for the front lift? Links to the products you have used would be cool.

I replaced the front coils and shocks with Iron Man 4x4. The front upper control arms are Total Chaos.
