awesome, thanks!!

Dropped it off at the local Lexus dealer to finally get my new dash installed. Even got a sweet NX loaner for the week.

Bought my new to me GX 470 last week. Today I figured out that my Curt front hitch from the 2007 4Runner that I sold fits on my gx with a little trim work on the front bumper lip. Love the new ride. A lot of great info I've found so far. I also found out there's a lot of useless plastic covers on this thing.

@FreeGX What lift do you have? I'm getting ready to install my Radflos and they are currently at the as delivered setting but I don't know how many inches of lift that translates to.

GX470: Radflo 2.5" with FJC coils

Straight out of the box at the setting they were shipped at, my front end measured ~21" from center of hub to fender flare. I seem to recall this was about 2" over the stock sagging suspension?

I replaced the rear pads and did a complete brake fluid flush. The old fluid was nasty. Next up is power steering fluid flush, front and rear diff and transfer case fluid change. I'll be doing these in a few weeks when I change the oil. I'll be sending a sample to blackstone. The GX has over 200k on it and I'm very curious to see the results.

Please post. Perhaps in it's own thread. I want to see them.

I'll be sure to post when I get them

I'm going to have to look for one of those hitches now. I like the idea of a front hitch for beach running, winch ideas, and precision trailer aiming.

Had to pull my lawn tractor out of a culvert at the bottom of a ravine near my fire pit. Made it across once to finish mowing but not the second time. One medium sized tree had to be cut down to get my GX down there. It needed to go anyway.

Got the A arms, rear springs and front coils on and mounted. Rather than drill holes for self tapping screws, I chose to run the hose clamps all the way around the frame. Not sure how long this will hold or how reliable it will be....The fronts were bolted on as designed. FYI, I did run into some interference on the right front reservoir mount with the windshield wiper tank. After hammering the mount flat, it slid right behind the tank with no issues. As far as the ride goes, its definitely stiffer than stock. It soaks up large bumps nicely but you feel more of the road imperfections. Unclear how much of that is the suspension or the heim joint A arms. Anyway, I'm happy with it.

got new pads, bled brakes, and drained and refilled the diffs after a LOOONG 500 miles yesterday and today at 30-45 mph (varied) to break in the 4.56 gears. Ugh. Here is a shot of the first known GX anti rock sway bar. Works great!

That's what I ended up doing. Used the first 6" or so of the front part to cover it.

Does this mean that the only way to remove the plastic clips is to destroy them?. Can you please take a pix of how it looks like now with this mod. I tried pulling the running boards and got stuck when the plastic clips. I could not figure out how to remove them without destroying them so out them all back

Take a look at this build thread, a couple of pictures on how to cut the top 1" of the running board off. I'll try to grab a picture myself in a little bit. I used a bobby pin to press in on those clips from both sides. Worked well on about half of them. If you do this mod chances are you'll break most of the clips. A lot of guys just drill them out.

The clips will come out of the running boards and stay in the lower rocker. I was able to get every single clip out of the rockers without breaking one. I also cut the front portion of my boards off to cover the exposed clips.

Received today, now I just need time to get this installed. Hope the wiring is straight forward, I have the amp adapter wiring. Will search later for information on removing the dash. Plan to run wires to center storage for an iPod and wires to the back for a camera
