PP25 location has not been decided yet. June is the month. I suggested a Yellowstone area trip and a few liked the post. Seems we may still be waiting for someone to take the lead for planning. Mike and I did it last year.are we going to Ouray?![]()

Have some leaves been pulled?
Edit: Maybe not. I think my spring retainer (or whatever that is called) looks similar. But nonetheless, your spring pack doesn't appear to be as arched as mine. Hard to tell though unless they were side by side.

Nice. I think the shackle angle police would approve.View attachment 3827542Switched to Dobinsons springs up front, took care of issue

Doh! I totally got that wrong.Ideally, you want it to look like this.

How that is now is what has been referred to as “negative cam-action zone”.
When the shackle is at the angle of the little drawing, it’s “positive cam-action zone”.
In my opinion, the springs are arched stock-length springs.
There’s also the possibility of “settling” and that the springs may settle and de-arch enough to get the shackle angle to 90°. You’ll have to see after your drive.![]()
Well hopefully by the time it hits AZ, it settles, still better than beforeIdeally, you want it to look like this.

My Dobinsons leaf springs have settled some. I have been driving and flexing on ditches, bouncing up and down on the bumper, and loading four 40 pound bags of salt on the hood plus the old springs on the front bumper while sitting in the garage. Don’t think this will be enough. I will give it more time but the answer is going to be to remove the third leaf from all four springs as per another MUD guy who had to do this on 3 other customer pigs. Not looking forward to that job but it may have to be done. That said I am driving the pig to Zion National Park this weekend with my wife.Well hopefully by the time it hits AZ, it settles, still better than before

No good excuse. Other than I was a glass or two of wine in.
What exactly do you need to know?I was trying to find more info on this mod.
Everything! What exactly do you need to know?
These lights.Everything!
Going off of your comment on the thread, you said you bought some spacers and whittled them down. Tried finding those spacers and can’t come up with anything. The next possible options are a couple chunks of UHMW or some aluminum.
I made four "nut plates" out of 1/4" steel strips drilled and tapped for two of the holes each and bonded them on the back side with panel bond.Did your mod also include welding a plate into the sheetmetal with some riv-nuts or captured nuts to thread the light mounting bolts into?
Minor trimming to a strange inner panel that's between the inner out outer skin from what I remember.Did you also have to cut into the inner cargo area sheetmetal, or do the spacers you made shim the light out far enough to avoid that area?
Seems like 36 times I’ve seen shackle angle pics making me realize I need to look at mine in the pigs. 36 times I’ve forgot each time I’ve gone to shop.Ideally, you want it to look like this.
