how did you put the cover ( 6 screws ) on that torsion bar ( that bar pushes cover out )

Did you try screwing them in before you put tension on the rod?

how in the heck did you know post 1391
I looked through the whole stupid thread for it. :)

Dropped the tank in order to send it out to Gas Tank Renu to be redone. The original shop did it incorrectly and the coating failed and was clogging fuel lines, filter, and in-line fuel pump for the Sniper EFI. All under warranty so only costs my time to drop tank, ship to main Renu shop, and put back in. That said, dropping the tank was a big deal. My doing though. Last thing I did during resto was add a rear hitch inside the bumper for a recovery point. I put the cross bar about 1/2” too deep and it prevented the tank from coming out easily. Wiggle left, right, back, forth. Nope. Finally got it to a position where the only hang up was the top bolt/nut on the rear spring hanger. Couldn’t get the bolt out easily even after jacking up the rear slightly to take off some pressure. Had to use a ball joint press to push the bolt flush and finally the tank is out!

Fix the cross bar issue while the tank is out
I really should…no doubt.
Grease dem shackle bolts or buy greasable ones 😘
Yep. Just changed all the bushings 3 years ago and was surprised to see the rust on that bolt. I have been thinking of doing a 2” lift kit or new Alcan springs that give a lift so then the greaseable shackle kit from Cruiser Outfitters would make sense. Unless you have a different/better recommendation?

Thank you ,But how did you put the cover ( 6 screws ) on that torsion bar ( that bar pushes cover out ) .I get the wood trick for tail gate hinge '
Also how in the heck did you know post 1391
IIRC, and it has been a while, i got the screws started a little at a time starting from driver side and just worked my way over, a quarter turn at a time. Use your good JIS screwdriver...

I broke the little white plastic clip that holds the hood support rod down, so i went to the dealer and got a new one.
It is so rare to able to find a Pig part at the dealer, i thoroughly enjoyed it.

100% !!! They still make those little small figure 8 looking clips that hold in the felt in the windows too. Bought a 2F oil pan new also although it came with the smaller size universal oil plug rather than the big one my original had. We need a list of all the new parts you can still get for these pigs!

Today was a good day.

Welded in the new gutters and moved into the A Pillars.

These are part of the Channel & Gutter Kit I sell in Australia. Replacing majority of the A to D Inner and Outer channels.
