Yup. It’s not perfect. Heater disconnected, A/C needs recharge, 4wd light won’t shut off and it needs tires and wheels.
Pretty solid though, especially for Latin America.

Nothing major considering what 70 Series go through in that part of the world.
Aside from the wheels, the truck looks clean.
Quite likely, the electrical gremlins have to do with some crude alarm/stereo install job. On the bright side, however, taking apart the dashboard to find what is the problem helps to keep oneself sane, as it is excellent therapy.

Just took the brown LJ79 on a 100+ mile round trip drive. Up to 60mph, it doesn’t have much more than that with 4.88 gears!
2,500ft in elevation gain on the drive. Had to drop down to 3rd and 35mph on the really steep passes.
I can see why people like these Prados, this thing is a total joy to drive, especially around town.
The 3L barely sips fuel, I left with a 1/4 tank and came back with an 1/8! I am sure it is getting over 25mpg.
I am still in awe of how well this thing runs, blows zero smoke under any conditions. That is impressive for a 27yr old diesel with 360,000kms on it.

They seriously flow a ton and have a nice fit and finish. Nice cruiser, what are your plans with it?
No plans just got it cheap, having the 1hdfte in it just thought I'd try it too see if it makes any difference to anything eg, fuel economy or lower intake temps, the old snorkel seemed to do fine as I'm only running low power only 180hp, really just put in on for s***s and giggles.

That thing should flat out move. Nice.
You can still get the old models, this one's a SS70HP meaning it'll fit all narrow nose 70 series and the HP denotes "high power" for the 4" design.

Yeah righto, you should start a build thread if you haven't already. I really like my 1HD-FTE and they are actually a nice motor to drive with, especially when tuned up a little. Thanks for sharing mate.
Engines been in for about 3 years now, love it. If you're interested there's a YouTube vid on it
