Started on my overhead console
Installed the rear storage boxes. Found an aluminum box to fill it all in. Now I can carry tools etc, out of sight.
I just pulled this 3rd member from a ‘88 BJ74. It’s got the 4.11’s in it. Going to upgrade the rear gear on the 60. Is this a factory Toyota Limited Slip? I don’t have any idea what it is

I hauled an FJ40 rear axle to the sand blaster in the back of it.

As per your thread in the diesel section,
check your vin plate. Axle code will end with a "5" for factory LSD.

I have been wanting to fit a suspension seat on my BJ 73 for some time.
I was recently talking to a good mate of mine, and he suggested (then dropped off), 3 x air bags that he believes, should help achieve this.
I only need one air bag for the seat, so what can I do with the other two...................?
He's some images FYI.
Here you can see the air bad and a set of 3 x flow control valves.
You can see here, the end cap (125mm/5" Dia), that I had to machine up, to thin it out a bit to reduce total thickness/height.

Spent a weekend taking off the dopey dealer-applied stripes on the sides of my new Troopy. What a PITA! Hours of solvent and rags and rubbing. Worth it, though, I think it looks a lot better without them, as they were very badly aged and decrepit, and not especially stylish.
Also fitted new wheels and tires, and polished all the paint. Before and After pics attached:

Still have the original white split rims--I pirated the silver wheels from another 'Cruiser so I could get tubeless tires mounted. Even though the Euro spec Troopies of this vintage (1987) came with white wheels, I'm thinking I might get the split rims painted gray when I restore them. Still undecided on that.

Finally got fuel up to rebuilt injectors (primer pump, etc)
Idled engine and watched for leaks in new mechanical oil pressure gauge. None.
Engine won't shut down via key: vac line disconnected or leaking somewhere.
Oil pressure = 60psi at idle.

Swapped out LED bulbs all around. Need to find a led flasher made to fit the 70 series which fits into a plastic holder. The c-13 led I got off ebay is too large to fit and so blades won't make contact. Bummer.

You have me feeling better about the shop that I use for starter & alternator rebuilds.As part of their rebuild, they do a walnut shell media blast then paint the exterior surfaces (steel/cast iron get black paint, aluminum gets silver). The end product that I pick up looks fairly like the rebuild that I was expecting.
It turned out fairly nice.
A heavier duty upgrade. (1HZ)
