My research has established that group 27 batteries are "correct" for 24 volt trucks. Group 24 batteries are dimensionally smaller and have less capacity than 27s but they will sufice.

Group 27 for cold climate and group 24 for hot climate.

That's what I determined as well, but Costco doesn't carry a group 27 equivalent. They have their own 'fitment code' not BCI Group size and as far as I could tell there is no equivalent to the 27 in their stock. The one I bought is the same height and width as the Group 27, but one inch shorter.

Installed new inner axle seals on my rear FF axle and replaced all the hardware holding the axles on the hubs.

Special thanks to Beno at Land Cruiser Parts & Consulting for getting me all these parts in a very short time frame at a price that can not be beat

Thanks buddy

Technically I didn't do anything to my Cruiser as much as I did something "for it".

Nice job, Joe... just completed a similar job. Suppose now is good time to show the other nut style available. For those that need it, these cap nuts provide both corrosion and impact protection for the threads. Onur can supply. Part number on request.

Re batteries. Will need 2 for a 24v bj70. The starter gets a serious work out at -40c ccamps count. I like 1000 cca. Saving 100$ on lesser batteries not a good choice up north here.

Started on new bumper for the bj. Making it mostly out of a 78 inch piece of 3/16 wall 2x6 rect box. Will incorporate receiver for trailer hitch in center. This will also mount a warn 6000 on a slide in pin lok when needed. Will have a rear mount to. Picked up some lights to replace stockers. They are truly pathetic wouldn't lite up a moose at 60 meters and rut starts v soon the buggers will be a hazard. Bumper will hold 5.5 cubic ft of oba. Xtra resivoir for lockers and airing up. Lots of welding though to make air tite.

Spent a bit if time pre-CruiseFest yesterday leading a group of club representatives, public officials, Tread Lightly and private land owner reps (ski resort) to discuss cooperative management options, expanded OHV designations and responsible ohv use. The BJ74 marvelled them all and made quick work of the technical sections. If you're not part of the solution... you're part of the problem.

Kurt even converted the hiker/skier/environmentalist gal into a 70 series fan! Look at that grin.
