OK, it was Trollhole's Big Gay 2F thread on the valve cover.
On the powder coat/high temp. Last I read you were using an oven to cure out the PC............so what's that like 500* max? So does the PC finish curing when you fire the motor? Just curious....

The powder I used on the 302 headers was baked at 550 the max my home oven would reach. The powder spec said anything over 500 would allow it to cure properly and would survive temps to 1100 degrees after it cured. I have read that you can make the coating last longer by mounting them and over a period of 30 minutes run the engine and for the first 5 minutes gradually increase the RPM (and temp of course) until max temp is reached then hold that RPM for 25 minutes then shut down and let them totally cool off. We did not do that with the 302 headers and like I said they are slightly discolored right at the head but otherwise look great.
The Downey headers will not fit my oven but I have a friend in Ohio who powder coats and has a large oven that will reach 650 degrees. Should make them look great.
