Can't believe I was packing NOS jewelry into every thermostat housing kit sold!

This is phenomenal! Can't tell if it's great humor and delivery or....the alternative is equally funny in a different way!!

Trying to be silly
I’m sure they have each other’s number stored in there phone or minds memory bank in a different section than part numbers.

I think I’m funny, My wife says I’m not, my girlfriend thinks I’m hilarious.

Sorry to get off topic. Those bolts sure are pretty and I’m sure would do a better job than what my previous owners did on my first 40.... sae bolt sizes that’s kinda close, just use a longer ratchet for more leverage to force it in... that’ll do

It could be worse, the original owner of mine had a different answer to not having the correct metric fasteners, and it generally involved a 225 amp stick welder! :bang::censor:

You haven’t lived until you’ve seen all-thread crossthreaded into a cylinder head.

- The battery tray Uses a 10mm x 1.25 / 12mm hex thread pitch bolt

- The Radiator support uses a 12mm x 1.25 / 14mm hex thread pitch stud / nut

- Hence all the reason's they are different sizes , shapes & have different size center holes and have different part#'s

Huh?

8 x 1.25 thread bolt 25mm long holds the battery tray down to the battery tray support.

Radiator frame studs on the bottom are 10 x 1.25 thread

And,

That 8.8 bolt in the jewelry box does not look like any Toyota bolt I have seen...

:meh:

At 30 years of living this whole Toyota thing, I am pretty new too.

WHOAH! Long time no talk bud, good to see you still on here. How are things?

For those of you that have holes to fill in your 40 dash. These are still available for about $3 a piece. There were two available so I could not help myself to see what the difference is so I bought both.

Brake booster molded vacuum hose and clamps for 7109 - 7404 booster:

(note: my hose had a label "HOSE, VAC FR DRV SHIF" which threw me, but it fits, as shown, perfectly.
I don't know if the label was a mistake or if this hose is interchangeable.)

This is a great thread. Thanks to all of the Mud family for all the intel and advice.

Just wanted to say that I took the advice here and contacted my local Toyota dealers parts manager. I told him that I was beginning a frame off resto/mod of my 72 fj40 and he was very helpful. He signed me up to receive a wholesale price on all parts and also offered that the toyota dealers have access to the old parts catalogs. Some times the newer folks at the parts counter may not know how to access it, but it can be done on fj's back to 69.

I do plan to start a rebuild thread soon despite my often embarrassing lack of knowledge and many times straight up boneheaded mistakes. If nothing else, it might make some of you laugh and others may learn from my mistakes. Thanks again to all here!
