@GLTHFJ60 i have been informed that I can actually install a locker and actuate it by hand in the meantime of wiring. So if I hit a snag in wiring that will be my backup. But I like your wiring plan.

We locked and unlocked mine with a wire and a drill battery. Before tearing it apart for rebuild so it is possible.

Traced my small vibe down to a bearing. I have a problem. I can’t just put it back together.

A little Sandblasteding and paint while it’s apart.

@SFROMAN where did you find the connectors needed?

I bought my axles with the wire harness.

But i know we found the Toyota part number for the pigtails at some point. I just don’t have that part number.

The pigtail comes with a male connector and a breather tube.

I suppose you might be able to buy just the male connector part of the harness.

If you are going to Logan’s run you are more than welcome to see how mine are wired.

Can someone tell me what the ref light above the voltage meter means? I just replaced the battery with a brand new one and then noticed this light was on.

The check engine light came on shortly after but i will be replacing the O2 sensors tomorrow to hopefully fix that issue.

looks like you alt isn't charging check your battery voltage with engine off and when running.

I don’t know about the ref light but as far as the O2 sensors go I just unplugged mine because they went bad 3mo after replacing them and it fixed my issues with running rough, granted the CEL is constantly on now.

I clipped the wires to the O2 sensors and left the plugs connected to keep dirt from ruining the harness side of the connectors. I plan to eventually remove the pair system and put new sensors in the manifold, leaving the old ones where they are to plug the holes.

Ok. I’m not that smart. Seeing as to how now my vehicles are registered here in NC. will messing with, eliminating or plugging away any of these sensors give me issues with inspections?

You shouldn’t have to pass any sort of emissions test or CEL test I don’t believe so you shouldn’t have any issue. We have a friend who inspects our vehicles so I don’t really worry about anything.

Some would say I like to procrastinate. I call it tactical patience.

Either way, I finally dropped the tank on the mini. Yeah, yeah I know I have been saying I would for a few years now. I am hoping the tank can be salvaged by a shop that can blast it? , and possibly line it. I am busy with work or I would use the kit I have and do it myself. It no time.

Here are some pics of the inside of the tank. It looks like surface rust to me. My other thought was to drop a couple of gallons of vaporust. Couldn’t hurt is what I think.

Oh I’m so stealing that!!

Well got close enough to take elk hunting next weekend! Wish me luck.

Ended up monstalining the rear panels. The old plastic is so brittle hoping this will give back some structural integrity. Will report back how they hold up!

Del, Your truck will indeed have to pass emissions testing here in NC. You are right to try to go ahead and deal with the CEL and O2 sensor issue in the proper manner.

Anderson’s truck is a ‘94, so pre-OBD2 (mine is too). No emissions on anything older than ‘96.

Thanks. That’s what I figured. My O2 sensors are not going to come off anytime soon. The nuts are rounded off and I have been soaking them with on blaster and wd40 for a few months to see if they would loosen up and no go.

I ordered a new alternator and I figure I might as well just get a new exhaust since i am not sure how else to get the sensors off. Just getting my ducks in a row for winter break.

Thanks for the advice on the O2 sensors.

I went ahead and ordered a 19 gallon 1984 longbed 4x4 pickup tank from rock auto. It looks exactly like the one I dropped today. Hopefully it fits. Can’t go wrong for $100. I still went ahead and through some chains into the tank and been moving them around inside with the first part of the POR 15 tank kit.
