Who’s rig is this? License plate says San Clemente (15 minutes away). I’d love to check it out.

They are in San Clemente. I'm not sure if they are on MUD though. I'll contact them and see if they'd be cool with a drive bye, etc.

I'll have a new tapered wire rear coil out soon as well. Been designing with the engineers and TD and King Spring dialing in free heights and load ranges. One of my customers has an auto repair shop and just installed a standard TD lift kit so we'll be able to get good lifted heights and design around those coils instead new/used stock coils.

(100 rear tapered wire coil- 13mm-19.5mm-- 660-1100# load range)

Jason,
are those springs progressive? will you be able to share the spring rates? or will it remain trade secret.
I've tried the OME 2722, 2721, and now the Icon rear springs.
the 2722 felt harsh, so I went with the 2721s. I love the ride feel and spring rates worked very well, but they were too short for what I am looking for. I was running a 30 mm spacer and was still 10mm shorter than desired.
the Icon springs are 30mm taller than the OME springs, but the spring rate is super soft. if the truck is empty or just loaded with one drawer slide, it rides like a cadilac. both drawers, camping gear or a second spare and it starts to get squirrely.
will be watching to see what the free height and spring rates are.

Free heights on these spring won't do much for comparison... These are a tapered pigtail spring. So the wire diameter starts at 13mm and gradually grows to 19.5mm.

@indycole is running the OME 2725 coils and is loaded at approx. 900# in the rear. He has a 33" LOADED measurement from bottom of rim to wheel well. This coil with approx. same weight is at 32.875".

The new free height for this constant rate coil will be 515mmRH /505mmLH with a 9.77 wrap design.

I was having issues with my 100 series as I was in the 800-1000# rear weight area and the coils either sagged like hell or rode like a jack hammer no matter what shock system I used. So I had KING and TD work with me on a tapered design. The smaller taper completely soaks up any small bump and quick drop while the larger diameter holds the load firm and steady and rides like a Cadillac with the Tough Dog foam cell shocks.

Here is my 100 with about 1300# on the rear. Just for some weight load to droop visual comparison

With approx. 200# in the rear (storage drawers with a few tools) no rear bumper or any other gear mods..

I contacted the customer and they gave me the okay for you to call them to come over and play.

I'll PM you the info.

I contacted a few of you that inquired on these coils..

With the new wrap and tapered design these should come in around 33.250"-33.625" (bottom of rim to wheel well with a 18" rim) with 1000# in the rear.

I put these into production at 2:30AM this morning. Approx. 5-7 weeks and they will ship from AUS.

Would these possibly be a good solution for towing a trailer with 350# of tongue weight?

I'm not done setting the 200 up yet but really want to avoid airbags if possible.

It'll be a "daily driver" with rear bumper, spare tire, drawer system and fridge. And then get loaded with 5-600 of tongue weight, gear, beer and husky when it's trip time.

Jason, what would the benefit be with the new red coil 250-600 lbs. over the 0-600 lbs 20mm of lift coil I’m currently running?

The tapered coil has many benefits. The main one from carrying heavy loads in my rigs is the comfort/absorption around town and on the trail. The tighter smaller upper coils take all the small hits and SHARP/QUICK drops in stride.

The tapered design allows for a much taller free height which will keep the springs in the saddle/buckets under articulation. If you put the cruiser on a lift and let the axle hang, you can simply put a jack under a tire; crank it up and the opposite side coil can be removed easily by hand. These coils keep the coils seated and keep the weight stabilized.

Once the "lighter" range is loaded the coil performs more like a "load" or linear coil for heavier loads, but since the wire diameter is constantly changing in strength/size the load is gradually being accommodated for; providing a more comfortable ride.

Copy. I have sliders and a 12.5 gal. Aux fuel tank. If the ride higher is the same as TD 0-600lbs I could see this as an option.

Thanks

All,

I've been asked when a new rear bumper will be released. Ballpark will be Dec/Jan.

A few things to note.

1) These will have a few changes from the old version. Mainly to keep the look different enough to keep the sale agreement in check.
2) Yes, I will make an aluminum version on special order. I just finalized the 7075 aluminum spindles and hubs for the swing arms.
3) Yes, a NON-swing arm version will be available.

Jason
