I figured you would say that. :)

Hehe... :steer::deadhorse:(ok...dead deer...not horse...but still... ;) )

Edit: PS. I am definitely convinced that Jason builds super strong stuff.

I've never had a weld rip hitting an animal or in a collision. As we've discussed before in this thread or elsewhere; A triangulated bar with DOM tube and proper welding will deal with most all occurrences.

I figure if NASCAR, NHRA,.. etc... don't require a pass-through design to hit another car at 200MPH or hit a concrete Jersey barrier at 300+MPH....

I told Tony I'd add rear gussets if he wanted them. If a client is that worried; I'll add a pass through option at an additional hourly rate.

Most of the time I see this procedure when factories are cranking out cold weldments by newbie welders. Plus it's easier to weld a gap than perform a proper fillet weld these days. I just don't understand the lack of QC and qualified staff that some of these companies employ.

Regardless of the internal bracing, the bar will probably bend first, upon impact, with just about any bumper, TJM, ARB, ect... Roll cages/bars don't break at the mount point.

But I'll let Jason chime in.

Thanks for the detailed response.

I know you don’t settle for weak stuff ever, so I’m sure you’ll make it strong.

As I’ve said many times...I watched Tony beat the snot out of his version 1 and it was a beast. :)

It matters that it’s YOU building it, @reevesci bc not all welds are created equal. I know you don’t mess around.

Jason:

Are you going to be building these bumpers in series, or just one offs? If I wanted one, could you build it and ship it, or only custom built with the truck on site?

I have 3 of the 20 rears remaining as of tonight and I haven't set a front number yet. I have 26 on the "front" interested list which in my experience works out to 5-6 guys.

I'm making hard jigs for these bumpers so they will be production based. No need for one-off any longer unless there is something special or unique that these don't offer. Which I'm always game for.

Hi Jason, did you post a weight on the new front bumper yet?

Thanks!

Great, thank you! Are you still planning to make a hidden winch mount? I seem to remember chatter about it a few pages back but not sure if the customer elected to go with a full bumper instead.

It's incredibly tempting but I'm still going with a hidden winch mount.

Wait, you're in fact doing a bull bar on the bumper this time? @reevesci, in that case I'm in. Let me know how to get in the queue

subscribed to thread, anxiously awaiting photos of V2 with bull bar.

are the fogs beaming straight or following the contour / angle of the bumper wings?

How do those recovery points work? Do you slip a recovery rope though them and attach to something inside?

Traffic in the lanes next to you will love those fog lights Tony!

Outward. They're cornering/spread lights for outward beam, not fogs.

There will be a pin in the middle of the pocket. Wrap a soft shackle around and you're good to go. That red thing hanging is the soft shackle.
