Ive got the hydraulic slave/master from the dodge I got the trans out of, it works well in my 80, was a single piece, but I had to build a bracket to mount it to the firewall as the master is kind of a twist in fitting, if this helps.

Actually I have a spare in my garage, though it would take a while to ship from canada.

Yeah thanks. I appreciate the thought of shipping it but I think I should be able to find something locally.
I just need to figure out the bore of the Getrag slave cylinder and find something that has a slightly larger bore for the master to make up for the shorter pedal throw in toyota pedal.

What trans are you running? NV4500 or Getrag?

Cody is running a nv4500.

I'm running a super duty clutch master that works pretty well with my nv, I can get the p/n for you if you'd like. I don't know what the specs are on it though.

What did you use for your clutch line? all of the places by me don't seem to have any clutch fittings to make me up a new hydraulic line. I also cant seem to find the fittings anywhere online either.

Its just the clutch/hydraulic/slave out of a 97ish dodge truck. Comes as one piece, but doesnt have the mount to attach it to the firewall, you have to cut that out or build one like I did. There's some pics of it in a thread (cody's white 80 rebuild) in the 80 series section.

Yeah I looked up the thread, nice job on that.
However when I looked up picking up a dodge master and line to go with the slave it was $200 for just the line and $60 for the master.

I did a quick craigslist search and found a guy parting out an old ford $27 bucks and a ride in the truck got me the clutch line out of it which mates perfectly with the master cylinder I picked up.
I might even be able to just get the dodge slave fitting onto the ford line.

It is one of those plastic hard lines, any suggestions on putting a fitting on a cut end? I was thinking about heating it up slightly and trying to press it in.
Worst case I can take both fittings to a hydraulic shop and have them make a new hose with those ends.

Truck should be moving sometime this week if I can get a break from working 12 hour days.

Stevo,
I "used" Cody's setup and just made a bracket for the dodge master and slave. The bigeest hurdle is figuring the throw of the pedal and making your bracket set off the firewall the right amount to get decent pedal travel. I couldn't find an easier way to make a new line so I just didn't fool with the existing one. Turns out it has some pretty accurate bends in it that fit the fj firewall ok.

I ended up mounting the resevoir for the master on the plate that covers the wiper motor stuff just above the master.

Keep it up. The seemingly little things here at the end should not get you down!

Stevo, my clutch hydraulic system was purchased from Scott @ TN Diesel Conversions. AFAIK, it's a superduty master with a stock Dodge NV slave, with a custom line. I'll try to take a couple of pictures later today.

the hydraulic hose has kind of a quick connect style end, it pushes in to the housings(s) has a rubber ring, and is held in by a pin that slides through the master or slave. The hose has a groove or notch in it and the pin sits in the notch to keep the hose from coming out.

**its been a while since I pulled mine apart, so my memory is a bit hazy on this.

Ive got the master/hydraulic/slave in a box in my garage in a box ready to go, if you change your mind you can have them for $100+shipping.

I think for the pedal travel, I will try and match the length of the rod to the stock configuration to see if that nets me enough travel. If not I will adjust it accordingly.

Thanks Johnny, pictures are always good. Thats pretty much how my setup will be except my master is out of a E-350.

Cool man. If for some reason what I picked up doesn't work out I will definitely take those off your hands. And yeah the slave and master have those quick connect fittings.

SAWEEET!!!!! Did you smile the whole time you were driving?

 well done.

Thanks. You did a great job on your truck as well. I bet that's a blast to drive

Congratulations!
What's left on the list?

I still need to make an exhaust, its gonna be 4"
I need to reinstall the hood
Make shifter linkages for the transfercase
reinstall the shift tower cover
install bumpstops in the front and rear
limit straps in the rear
reinstall the rear shocks
do some touch up painting to prevent rusting issues
also need to figure out why my alternator isn't charging anymore I might need a new voltage regulator.

The whole time. Its great to have it moving under its own power. The Medium duty trans will take a bit to get used to, it takes some force to get it to shift into gear with the shifter being cut down but its not terrible.

Congrats!

That is one big Cruiser but nice job keeping it low.

Thanks man, it felt super stable, the extra width should definitely help. Its 86" from outsides of the tires.
Can't wait to take it wheeling.

Awesome! Great work
