More here :steer:

My daily driver. A '77 that I picked up last June. Purists don't flame me for the earlier style blinkers, I just dig the look for now. The wife will say midlife crises but this is the real reason I bought this rig.

A dune beige 40 and a Weim? You have excellent taste! ;)

and a second set.

I loved your blog when I went through it one day. It really helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel and sold me on not cutting any real corners.

It was also a nice reference to hand my :princess: for her to look at.

I cant wait to lay down the 464 on all of my body panels.

thanks!!! that's a wonderful compliment!!!!
Besides working on my rig, I really liked working on that blog, but hearing that others enjoyed it and even used it for their own inspiration and motivation, is great to hear!!! you'll really enjoy the Beige 464... besides its a color that is not often seen on other cars, its also in my opinion the most iconic color for vintage 4x4 trucks... just see it as the timeless khaki pants.... they're never out of fashion.. who can say that of a pair of red pants ;)

I have to agree with FJsnoozer. Thanks for sharing your blog. Good read!
I had a long debate (with myself) on colour and finally went for 416, which is slightly darker.

/offtopic funfact/ I restored mine near Zaltbommel, not far from you. I brought it with me when I immigrated to Canada, 4 years ago.

hey another cheesehead!!! :)
416 is great as well, i just made my decision based on the date of my truck... (1981) if older i would have picked 416 too... just to keep it factory correct...:D

I compromised...:whoops: Mines an '84 so I should have gone for 464.
But then again it was white when it rolled off the assembly line, painted red for his duty as a firetruck on Rotterdam Airport and then painted yellow before I bought it.

I miss cheese (and drop):crybaby:

I am going 464 by vote of majority. My passenger likes it better than 416 and I think it will be iconic like you said. I really like the color swatch and what it does in the sun (my can is already mixed up). Mine is a 77, however, I will have a 79+ tub on it and rollbar, so, there you go....

well if thats all you miss, then that could be easily solved, not really an inspiring time to live in the netherlands right now, better enjoy the beauty of canada... at least from what i've seen in the movies :::D

indeed the color is very nice, although it seems to change everytime, from greyish in winter to yellowish when the sun shines, pale in the morning, darker at the end of the day... never the same...

Yes, that is all I miss. Never looked back and never went back for that matter. I live here now. You are welcome to experience it too. Or make me an offer and get-the-heck-out NL too:p

/offtopic (sorry about that, won't happen again, promise)

since you already mixed the paint, i assume you're not going for the Single stage paint like the factory did? ( that one is only a few hours usable, because of the 2 component setup with hardener) no idea how the result will differ between single stage and the one you finish with clear coat....

I am going single stage. My gallon, hardened and reducers etc. Are all separate. I had them mix the paint up and was about to paint when my dad passed away.

Paint is still good right? I figured I would have to maybe have them agitate it again after 2 months.

Paint should still be good. It wasn't frozen or anything, right?
I would bring it to a paint shop where they have those shakers and give it a good shake.
