So what's the aversion to just using Penetrol the whole body paint? Just that a proper polish and wax is a preferred path if possible?

It’s nice paint. Maybe if it was not super smooth and able to be polished but this paint polished up like a new paint job.

Pretty clean actually, just a little hazy/dull. Definlitey doesn't need a CLR scrub.
Wasn't sure if Grinots or meguiars ultimate would be the best just to bring the shine/reflection back.

I'm pretty happy with how the Penetrol turned out, applied to both patina and paint. It gives a fairly glossy finish on paint, but it's self-levelling and looks pretty good. And you don't have to mess with spot application and wax on your patina.

That thing is a PUFF!o_O

Is fluid film safe to use under the hood on engine parts that experience high heat? Block, head, etc.

It cooks off clean. I use it on rusted bolts and hoses under there. Let it sit then after it treats it will cook off

One product that I’ve used on my patina trucks with good results is Whink Rust Stain Remover. It’s like CLR on Steroids. It’s very powerful and a little bit goes a long way. Paired with a Scotch Brite pad, this stuff will absolutely erase rust stains from paint. I work it in small sections and clean it off really well with soapy water when I’m done with a section. Don’t leave it on the paint for too long. It can dull the finish and possibly etch.
