Ok I'll ask .... what is a BJ 41 ??

Short-lived diesel. They run a 2B. I think 1980 or 79-80 were the years. Thought they had a limited market as well?

Yes, it runs on a 2B Diesel engine, this is Japanese truck converted to left hand drive.

I posted mine earlier when it was a 2nd daily driver for the missus and I, but now we've sold the 4runner to help fund the house we're building. So the FJ40 is a true daily driver now!

Did a phew changes to make it a little nicer for daily duties....got 80 series cruiser power steering, dropped back to some 33" MTZs on 15x10 Classic Locks (kept the 35" trXus for Offroad, and will beadlock the rims they are on properly now instead of the fake ones which are currently on the TrXus's rims). Got rid of the parklight/indicators on the guards, and installed some clear round indicators off a range rover. Also put a nice stereo in it (dvd player, amps, splits, subs) and am actually enjoying driving it every day, but am missing the lexus v8 that was in the runner.

Thinking of fitting some rancho 9000x shocks soon too to try and get a little better ride over the current skyjackers.

Anyway, few pics of how it looks now.

Original paint low low milage BJ42, very rare.

Beautiful rig, shoot some pics of the rear tub that you sent me, people will not believe how clean this rig is.......

Rob

This is my new rig and is now my daily driver. She is a 1982 BJ42 with a total of 54,045 kms and all original. I acquired this museum piece only 2 weeks ago and for the first time in her long history she is on the road every day. This beauty gets more attention here in Vancouver than most of the luxury cars. I can't wait to get her out on the trails as she is a trail virgin...not one rock chip underneath. This BJ42 will finally get a chance to live.

Nice to see this thread come back around, all you newbies need to post up! :D

What did you do to the rear fenders to get them to flare like that? Steel, fiberglass, maybe something like that? Did you fab them up?

Very cool, man I miss "down-under"!
