Adam, I used to drool over your cruiser and access to Moab in the TT.

Never seen it with the Hard top on, looks cool.

Was the cruiser the tan color? It seems like it has some green in it. Do you know what the color was called or have the paint code? Also, do you have any detail shots of your cage setup and the fender bars... those always looked better than any other I had seen. I could have spotted your cruiser out of a 100. Man, where does the sickness end?

Thanks Bro!

Thanks for the compliments. No it was not tan and it is definitely green. I had the color in mind for a long time as I was planning the buildup. When I got to the point of paint, I went to the local paint supply place and looked through the swatch book until I found the color I had in my head. It is PPG Spectramaster Green. Obviously not a factory color but it looks like it could have been. I liked that it didn't seem out of place on the 40 like a metallic paint or black or something like that.

I'm sure I have some detail shots of the cage and stuff somewhere. I'll see what I have here at work and post it up.

Where in So Cal are ya now? Im in Rancho Cucamonga.

It's technically a '76, but other than the frame, it's a combination of several trucks. The only peice of the original body that I kept was the roof. All other parts have been replaced and the tub was a complete reskin. I am still in Utah. I sold the 40 a couple years ago and the gentleman that bought lives in SoCal, I believe in the SD area. I have been seriously missing this truck for a while now. I've been enjoying my 80, but I'm shopping for another 40.

Sorry for the brief hijack, but here's a couple detail pics. Not the best shot but gives you an idea of how the cage was set up. Very simple 8 point design (6 point with seat cradle) A-pillar hoop tied into the dash. Please don't comment on that it's been debated for years, and it works fine. The plated center section in the front held a small homemade overhead console with a couple speakers, a CB, and dome light. Cruiser Outfitters built this cage and it's still one of my favorite designs.

here's a few of the fender bars. Tied into the Man-a-Fre brush guard with a couple tabs and some spring bushings. On the slider end is a "post" that slides inside the fender tube and a single bolt run through it. Once again, simple but it worked great.
