Finally got the steps done.......building steps is NOT fun! Eventually, I will probably build some storage shelves underneath the stairs so I don't lose the available space. Otherwise, the sandblaster, air compressor, or refrigerator could be under here as well. Need to buy a couple of floor anchor brackets for the support posts.

I picked up all the parts for the power pedestal, breaker box, and internal wiring between them. Should be completed by tomorrow.

Finally got a few lights up for testing. The LED's are 2 strips on each side of the light at about 20° from vertical. I think they are a little too bright this way so I will be running them the 48' direction instead of the 30' direction. Will post new pics once I get them moved. Each 4ft strip is about 11,000 lumens with an RF blocker in the chip so as not to mess with cell phones and WiFi. Circuit boards in the lights are made by CREE right here in town.

What is the insulation plan now?
I had a few roof leaks so I am going to wait out one more winter to see if they have been resolved. For now, I am walling off an area of 10 x 20 under the mezzanine for detail work. This area will be receiving insulation batts of R-25, walls and ceiling. I will be using this area for things like rebuilding the transmission, transfer case, 8274 winch, hubs, etc. At least this way I can keep making some progress. Next year I will look at insulating for the whole building again.

A bit more progress. Starting building the partitian walls for the detail/clean room (20 x 10). I'd take working with metal any day over working with wood.

Coming along nicely!! Looks great and I really like those lights. I've been searching for new lights to install in my barn, as I don't have enough light in there now.

Did the same thing in my 30x40. Partitioned off 30x9 across the back and insulated/heated. I would love to eventually insulate/heat the entire thing, but money needs spent elsewhere on the property first. It is nice keeping the tools warm during the winter and having a warm place to work!

Keep up the great work! Love it!

Damn it! Why can't we have a Menards? They have everything, at good prices too!

I HEAR YA.
I discovered Menards when my daughter lived in Milwaukee.. Man do I miss that store. I'm in VA.

Back to the shelves you would be wise to put a solid bottom on those shelves. speaking from experience.
loose parts will fall though and cable ends will get stuck when your trying to pull a motor/fan/electrical component off the top shelf.
Even putting some heavy cardboard, thin plywood or those vinyl shelf covers that come in the roll fro Lowes-etc.
Looks great!
Bobmo

I almost for got, arent you worried about the roof sweating? I dont see any insulation on the roof panels.

More ceiling lights installed and I like how these have turned out. These are about 11,000 lumens each fixture.
