... I need to weld a nipple onto it and run the valve cover vent hose into it and I think I'll be 'done'.

Done? This particular project didn't take you nearly long enough... aren't you afraid of being project-free? Come help me - free beer.

I'm in Boise visiting some fam and saw your truck in front of the shop yesterday, looks so clean in person

Thanks.

make sure the valve cover vent is entered after turbo

Why? The factory location is on the hard elbow going from the air cleaner to the turbo inlet.

Let me rephrase that, this stage of the project is almost done. ...and did you say 'free beer?' I'll stop by on my way home.

Crankcase vent should go pre-turbo if recirculated. Otherwise you will be pressurizing the crank space and blowing seals of sorts. If you want to prevent oil from gumming your intake you can install a catch can on the ventilation line.
I guess that makes sense. You could just dump overboard too, depending on where you dumb overboard you will be rust proofing that area:-)

Got rid of the silicone and t-bolts, scrounged up some OEM hose clamps, cut the old rubber piece and fabbed up a steel elbow for the turbo inlet.

Looks stock to the untrained eye; was showing it to a co-worker and he commented that it looked original. That was a nice compliment as that was the goal.

It may be burning some earl, I might have a stuck ring from sitting so long. Other than the occasional puff of blue smoke on acceleration, it's running really well and I'm pleased with the performance.

The 14BT has a deeper, throatier sound than the 3BII, but it's not obnoxious at all and runs really smooth.

Next major investment will be tires. Trying to decide between 235/85r16 and 255/85/r16

Current tires are Pirelli Scorpions with tubes, 7.50 R16 which are about 32.2 x 8.7"

I'd like to run the 33's but there's not a very good selection in that size and you pay a premium for what's available.

the 235's actually look pretty good on my truck. I ran skinny 33's on the 70 I used to have and those filled the wells nicely, 33's would look good on my truck too, actually will probably be running skinny 33 muds with studs for winter. If you are stock height and don't plan on lifting then I think the 235's should be good.

I'm getting a quote from Les Schwab on these:

Anyone have any experience with them? I think they're made by Cooper, but not sure.

Ordered the above tires, think I'll get my wheels powder coated prior to mounting them. I'm not a fan of the chrome.

I finally got a receiver hitch on it too. Its a hitch made for a cruiser with no rear step, so I had to modify it a bit (and slot the step). With the modification, I was able to get my pintle to mount with it. Not sure the pintle will work though as the lunette may hit the bumper.

Some more detail here
I initially purchased a bolt-on receiver, made by someone here on Mud, that bolted directly to the four center holes on the rear cross member. It worked okay for towing my small trailer, but flexed way too much when I had my bike rack on it, then I added the hitch step/extension and the 3/8” plate that mounted to the frame bent.

I purchased a class three hitch for an 80 series (craigslist), and cut the welds on the main-square tube, where the three-bolt flanges are attached and slid them in a couple inches to match the width of my 75s frame and re-welded them in place.

I drilled up into the bottom of the frame and bolted it on with some grade-8 hardware.

Hello,

There are half-steps for use with pintle hooks:

STEP SUB-ASSY, REAR BUMPER, LH. P/N 52303-60010
STEP SUB-ASSY, REAR BUMPER, RH. P/N 52302-60010

My 73 has these. The EPC says they are used on all the 7x models.

Hope this helps.

Finally ordered tires, took the wheels to get powder coated. Hope to get them back this week, shop said "7 to 10 days" for coating.

Discovered 30mm wheel spacers bolted to the hubs when I pulled the rims. Not sure what that's all about. P.O. must have had some different wheels on this at some point. Spacers do allow for mounting up 80 series alloy wheels, so I can swap the 285's that are on our 80 to the 75 if needed.

Picked up the new 'Camel Wheels', headed straight to the tire shop. Went out for a quick drive and a poser shot.

Waiting for my spare to show up, had to order it from a different site as tire-easy only had four of these available.

Hope to get it out on a trail soon. Need to build some sliders before I crunch those fancy chrome steps.
