Yep, public land in the White River NF south of Silt CO. Had a great time, though took me 5 hours to pack him out, which kind of sucked.

Can you get Toyota glass? My PPG windshield is lose in the gasket and is squeaking. Ideally I would like it to be replaced with Toyota glass and a new gasket. The PPG glass is fine except for a star in front of the driver which hasn't bothered me in the three years I've owned the Cruiser.

Not exactly sure who makes the OEM glass for 80's...... since they were made in Japan I'm sure it was Ashasi for the factory.... most likely for the US OEM replacements its mostly United LN.

Unfortunately I can't do anything on the price for OEM unless it was a ford or GM that we already have in stock for various reasons.... we almost never have an actual OEM Toyota in stock as most insurance companies won't pay for it until they are pressed hard then we have to order one through a dealer, which is dumb because we contract with the companies that actually make it but their OEM contract states they only sell OEM to dealers or factories, so safelite is also prisoner to dealer glass prices. Beno may be able to help more with a discount on OEM glass than I could.

For what its worth I had a PPG glass in my truck when I bought it and it never leaked or rattled, I replaced it last year due to a crack I had from an offroading incident with another and also no leak or problems even used the old gasket with no problems.

My 60 got a brand new OEM AGC piece from Japan. Had to wait almost 2 months to get it. It is beautiful. Insurance paid for that one.

Yup ... best way to ruin a good elk hunt is to get one

The packing out in smaller pieces sucks, especially when your knees are messed up like mine.

Take the small chunks, marinate them in Allego Game Tame with a little extra lemon juice, then wrap in bacon with a slice of water chestnut. Cook to rare to medium rare and you have my somewhat famous elk bites ...

When I interviewed with AGC in Atlanta a few years ago, they were looking to start producing autoglass in the US. I think they have a couple of plants here already, but none producing autoglass. This was all around 2009 or so ...

This story made me pause and think about how to treat people. I will purposefully keep this vague.

I have an acquaintance that is a GM of a retail store. So he has a sales staff. He fired one of his staff within the past year. Since he let this person go this individual has continued to text the GM randomly in an effort to antagonize and get under his skin. Going so far as to open his own "store", selling the same products, texting the GM how much his store sucks (putting it nicely), racial slurs, etc.
Recently all the texts have ended with the ex-employee typing a series of the same numbers. The GM did not know what this meant and did not want to ask given the nature of the texts.
Last week the texts started again as the GM was on his way home. When he got home he went upstairs to speak to his wife, he came back downstairs and was in the bathroom when he received another text. This one said, "So you have to go upstairs to ask your wife if you can use the bathroom? ####
The GM realized at that point that the numbers at the end of the texts were his address. The GM armed himself and took other precautions but it was dark outside and he did not feel comfortable investigating the premises.
The GM said he has been rattled since this happened and has filed a report with the PD just to have a record of the events. He also has all of the previous texts saved.

I'm not sure how the GM has been replying to these texts but I imagine he was giving as much as he was taking. What I took from this story is to turn the other cheek unless you/you're family is in danger of physical harm. The ex-employee would probably have gone away if ignored.

You just never know about people.

This is especially true when it comes to a-hole neighbors. They may piss you off but you have to remember that they can make things really hard on you if they want to.

When I lived in PA I had a neighbor across the street that was a raving drunk. He would berate neighbors all the time, give their kids crap etc. Every so often I would be his target, until one day I get a call from another neighbor that this guy was in front of my house looking through the family room window. He then moved up to the front door.

I opened the main front door to find him there on the other side of the screen door. He starts mouthing off at me, threatening me and I see he has a black jack in his hand. I immediately start to laugh at him explaining that a black jack is a weapon you use in surprise that it would not help him now. So he bangs it on the door. At that point I'd had enough and I push the screen door open knocking his drunk ass backward over his own dog. I came out and was right on top of him an grabbed the black jack. I threw it across the street on his property and informed him that if he came near me again he would get to find out how good his medical insurance coverage was.

I decided to take him to court, which all the neighbors attended. He goes in the bathroom, with his brother that I have not seen ever until that day. They obviously were cooking up a story which he told the judge. After hearing everything the judge put a restraining order on him for myself and family and the neighbors as well and also told him that if he hears of one instance that he ( the judge ) would make him his pet project. He also told him, in open court, that he was lucky because he knows Mr Stanley's father (my father) and he knows how I am trained and that if I had less self control we'd be holding this trial in his hospital room while he ate his lunch through a straw. He also got some civic clean up work, no fine.

The judge pulled me aside and told me to personally let him know if this A hole (judge's words) does anything else and that if he did he would put him in a rehab for a year. He never bothered me or another neighbor after that, just sat on his porch getting drunk staring at anyone that came out of their house.

It did not go so well for me. Judges in this county are a joke. I was two years going to court for a restraining order that he violated in several ocations.

I never had the pleasure to kick his a-- and i ended up moving. The judge kick him out of his house and now house is for sale. I still own the house and hope to tare it down next yr.

Thats sad to hear. I havent had too much of that in the past, the one time I did hire an attorney and they did everything, I didnt even had to go to court, all handled by civil. Cost a few bucks, but well worth it.

However, I did have a lot these below growing up in Puerto Rico!!

Very true Brad..... I used to be an incredible hot head when it came to confrontations, but since one incident that rattled me a bit i've learned to not let anything truly get to me. Even Andrea says I am too laid back sometimes when it comes to people we run into at the bars. I just say i'd rather walk away from just about any situation than have to do something that could lead to me hurting someone or putting her in danger with something escalating. She knows though that there are some lines that when crossed I change my attitude. Bottom line always try to walk away and ignore it or it may put your family in danger.

One of my greatest joys in life is turning on the tv to find Charlie Brown Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas specials on.

Made 3 trips to get hay this weekend, 1.5 hrs one way. Horse hay is very short around us this year, onlly one good cutting and a half assed cutting this last couple weeks. HUGE 1,100 lb round bails, we really need a tractor. For now we put Dexter to work pulling bails off the trailer. We are half way there, 4 trips 20 bails. 40 bails will take us through winter to first cutting next year. Tons of work and but knowing we are covered through winter, priceless.

Oh yeah, everywhere on the property from here is down hill Remote control winch is a huge asset.
