hey, wait…that’s not a sandwhich shop. Nice!
That Sniper keeps me chugging up these rocks. You need to see the light.

Ole Blue killed it this weekend. Tomorrow she gets to take me home.

I did the plasma on mine. Never again.

I’m figuring 4.5” wheel wherever possible then plasma when not. Those things make for a lot of cleanup

I did mostly plasma, the torch would have been cleaner and faster.

Keeping a good arc going was hard with all the road grime. I’ve been avoiding grinding down all the junk and putting it in.

Plans for the front? Spacers to match rear axle width or Tundra brake mod?

Well since I’m already running spacers I think I’ll just have them in the front and none in the rear. Should drive the same as it does now

I tried to work it with my 4.5” cut off and it was just terrible. I ate 3 discs before I punted to the Wuhon plasma.

This air tool is legit for knocking the grime off

Got it done. It sucked. I’m whipped. I’m sure I’m going to have to grind some more where the perches go. Lots of stuff right there. 4-5 hour job for me. I won’t do this again. I’ll just by a Diamond housing……yuck.

So on my last big trip out I had a bunch of engine oil spraying back. I noticed it on the trailer and then on the LRA when I climbed under the truck.

I’m pissed because I just put a clutch in the damn thing less than a 1000 miles ago. Something was leaking. I figured rear main.

I stewed on it over the weekend then figured.

1) if I pull it again I’m replacing the last mechanical thing (s) on this truck that actually have 240,000 miles on

2) rebuilding my axles with lockers and 4.10s

Open it up today and the rear main is dry as a damn bone

WTF.

Really. WTF.

The clutch fork had oil on it and the inspection cover and the bellhousing.

Clutch and pressure plate had none. Oil pan had a tiny drip in the groove as you can see but the rest of the pan was dry.

No oil in front of the inspection cover at all.

So where the hell was the oil coming from???

It was oil, not 90wt

Rear Welch plug maybe. Not the freeze plug visible in the pic, the Welch plug that's farther up above the crank on the driver side of the rear of the block.

It’s a hex plug on this block
