Adding boost increases compression temperatures and burn speed already, so advancing timing more is a very bad thing. Especially on engines that weren't intended to be turbocharged.
EGT is only an indication of cylinder temperature. Advancing...
Nice truck! And nice build. Following along.
I did not have good luck with aftermarket glow plugs, tried VMC (I think that’s the brand) didn’t work out of the box, Then tried NGK, worked well for about a year. Finally got an OEM set from...
For anyone looking to use this one of these Universal Kits! The only measurement that is truly critical is the distance from the front clip support to the front of the fan, per this drawing. Any other measurements we can work with you to make...
Well, after two years of sitting outside I brought my truck into the shop and my plan is to start ramping up on finishing my engine swap.
My goal is to drive it out to Rubithon this year…. Crossing fingers…
I bought a cheap remote relay to monkey around with, but I haven't had time. Plus I think I'd miss bitching about having to go outside at 530 in the freezing rain in PJs to turn it on.

Finally I added a new pinion seal and flange to convert the driveshaft...
This time I put the transmission into first gear so I can wiggle the rear output to wiggle the input shaft to fit into the splines on the clutch and into the pilot bearing. Tomorrow should be done with putting everything back together and fill...
