G Shackles on a 60?

Just looking at the listing photos — those suckers look thinner than the stock shackles, and you can be sure the steel they use isn’t as strong.
Personally — I’d never even consider them.

I’m partial to greasable pins. . .
What about the bushings, are they polyurethane or rubber?

Wow those look frail. No way would I try those on my rig. To give you a comparison check out this page of all brands of quality strong shackles.

those look janky and remind me of the wimpy/thin lift shackles that nearly every lifted 60 in Japan had...hard pass. And they are some sort of revolver shackle that just screams "I will break!!!" You will be better served spending the extra money on beefy anti-inversion units like Cruiserteq offers (Roonie's post). I have the same greaseable shackles, and they look great and don't make crazy clunking sounds when you go around a bend or make a turn.

AliExpress should tell you everything you need to know with regards to quality of goods. AliExpress one step below Amazon when it comes to sketchy and/or counterfeit products.

Anyone tried these 45.58US $ 14% OFF|H-TUNE 4x4 Suspension Spring Rear Comfort G-Shackles for land cruiser 76,78 & Most 79 Series - https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4000144877644.html ? a few videos on youtube on them, no clear conclusion as far as I can tell.

Has anyone given them a go?

Cheers

Hi there.
I took the risk to order a pair (2") from Alibaba and fitted to the rear of my HJ60.

First observation, though I can't attest of the quality of the items in such short period of use, but I can assure mine were way thicker than the factory shackles. That doesn't mean however that they will last over time. I'm only a human :)

So, I didn't hesitate to drive them pretty hard, as a test, on a 600-km road trip (x2 = 1200km in 2 days) lasr week, including on seriously damaged, rocky portions of the road (I'm in Africa, to say the least :)). Not only, did they survive he harsh driving, but they did so without a single dent or a loosened screw.

As for the ride, yes it does improve, especially for mine that was not great with an old and bad factory suspension set up... I was able to go as fast as 100-115km/h on-road without the car shaking to its core or threatening to topple over. That's been my fastest trip on the same road so far!

Last but not least. Before deciding on that upgrade, my other main concern was how the car was going to behave in cornering. I had read a few negative comments about that on a.couple of forum. But in my experience, cornering was icing on top of the cake!

A short word about the installion though. The pair of shackles I ordered was not designed for the 60 but the 76/7879 series... I just had to cut and fit some rubber to prevent the shackles from sliding side to side as 70 series leafs are generally a bit wider than the 60's.

Hope that helps.
