Stop the soliciting commercials... PM the person if you want to push a product.
I total agree that Slinky is a awesome product of high quality, but please stop.
I hope to meet you some day Adam & have great conversations about 80 series suspension, but please stop.
Thank you in advance for your professional reply. I will not retort...
Wasn’t “pushing a product”. I made a suggestion. You gonna start policing everyone that makes a suggestion?

Yup, he was pushing his nose in .. We were just having a conversation which is what this forum is about.. I left commiefornia for just this reasons ..

The place I worked in California a woman made a derogatory remark about Jesus .. I didn't say anything in front of all the people that she made the comment about .. I went to her and said, I thought in private, "I'm not going to HR to rat you out because unlike you I believe in freedom of speech and you have the right to say what ever you want even if I find it offensive" .. "This is what the 1st amendment is all about" .. "I'm not going to make derogatory remarks about your deities because it serves no purpose and I don't want to be offensive towards you" .. "I know if I did do that, you would run to HR and rat me out but this is the difference between conservatives and liberals" .. I did not know this at the time but my boss was standing right behind me .. I don't know how much he heard but he encouraged me to go to HR .. So to him I said "Unlike liberals who like to slap people down and but into other peoples affairs I believe in the 1st amendment and she has the right to say whatever she wants" .. "I have the right to settle this without getting her fired" .. Just say'n ..

My boss was also a liberal .. I was not liked because I believe in fairness and tolerance where they made claims they did but did not .. I left the company and got out of commifornia because liberal hyper-intolerance is rampant .. Mind you as a conservative, in the liberal mind, your always going to be wrong and someone who spreads conspiracy theories because as a conservative your a person of low intellect according to them .. What I found was they would lash out because the truth was not something they could tolerate because it wasn't their truth and they would do what I called "A Slap and Run" .. Whatever ..

Cool story.

I found a very cool video where Shauno compairs 31", 33", & 35" Tires .. When watching the video, the 305's / 35's are actually 35.25" to 35.75" tall .. Could it be that the real sweet spot is 34.5 +/- .25" ? .. Please watch the video which evaluates different conditions and tire size ..

I have to step up here (sorry); I've only been in the 80 crowd for about a year now, but I've learned the most from GW and Adam, by far. Both are fantastic resources, generous with their knowledge and experience, and valuable members of this small community so I'd be hesitant to disparage either one. And, although it doesn't matter to me (but it seems to matter to you), GW definitely strikes me as a Conservative, like yourself, FWIW. (I could be wrong, I never asked him - as I said, that stuff is irrelevant to me)

Other than that, thank you for the posts & questions - I learn from all this stuff as well, so when you ask questions I'm also listening to the answers.

Ratting people out to HR (or whatever authority) is a personality trait, not a political leaning. Just sayin' :hillbilly:

LOL, yeah, working on that info, suppose I forgot that but still fitting things and working on a final stance/ happiness. Currently 20 YO SLEE original arms sold to me from his garage, 2.5OME med/ heavy, a stack of spacers so about... 3.5" No idea how some pull 4" off without alot of cutting and bump stops. Thinking I like the 3" with 1" body lift option but starting with Delta arms and possibly 4", then 4" and 1" body if that fails.
Tire/ wheel - 37x 13.5 x 20" big heavy ass tire wheel combo. Need to weigh each yet but some heavy SOB's... Right now rubbing on the mud flap which will come off soon. No spacers behind the wheels. Upgrade to M14 studs and more on the way...

Awesome, stance looks great. My lift is still in boxes. I was looking at the 4xousa slinky 3" kit or Slee 4" kit. I ended up going to with the Slee 4". Looks like you might need to move the front arms forward 1".

That's pretty much what I have for 4" of lift. 3" Slinky HD suspension + 1" body lift. Still needed a fair amount of cutting as well as moving my axle forward a bit for better clearance at the mudflap area. If you are looking at Delta arms, moving the axle may not be needed.

I've been able to keep a full 12" of travel with roughly a 2" bumpstop extension, but full disclosure I still have some rubbing at full stuff but not enough to cause damage.

Good info, thanks guys. So many options know over what I had on round 1. Talking to Dave at Delta it sounds like his 4” arms give about 3/4” -1” shift forward if I remember right. Going to start there. My welding skills are less than stellar. I would have never considered a body lift but it is making sense on what you can gain from it on the 80 in other ways so ultimately leaning that way and have the blocks and new body mounts already,
If one of my SLEE arms wasn’t welded I would back them out to test fit the forward shift but I done busted one out a long time ago. May grind the weld and get it safe to test the stuff and turning before moving the mounts if it comes to it

Personally I wouldn't do a body lift taller than 1" but a 1" body lift put minimal increase of leverage on the hardware and if you're using grade8 hardware it will be completely safe. 1" BL also doesn't require modifications to steering and shifter linkage and relocation of bumpers etc.

Are you Slee arms the old tube ones or the newer billet ones?

You may want to confirm the distance 4” delta arms will move the axle forward. My 6” arms moved my axle forward barely 3/4”. Recently a member I know, don’t know if he posted this info, took delivery of a set of 4” delta arms and they measure something like 1/4” , or maybe less, longer than the stock arms. Quality control inconsistencies? Possibly, but it’s worth reconfirming with Dave.
