Just used a quick garden hose spray to clean the area around that wiper motor and its wire couple of weeks. Been on a long trip after that and everything else been working well. How long has it been since you washed the engine bay?
Did you spray water directly at the wiper motor/wires?
Has the wiper motor been making any new/louder than usual noise while running, growling??
IME the magnets can pop off the inside of the case and drag on the armature (causing growling) or can lock up the armature
causing the motor to get very hot (pulling amps) with no movement.
Already mentioned, disconnect the harness connector at the wiper motor, clean with Electrical/contact cleaner (not Carb or Brake cleaner),
reconnect.
