Winterized my awnings and decided to shoot a few pictures at sunset with my new camera in the aperture mode on a tripod.... It was really dark ...the aperture stayed open for 4-5 seconds and I was surprised by the results...porn!!!
It doesn't appear that dark but my exterior lights which are on a sensor are on

Inspired by Dontblink's Ultra Gauge install on the A pillar.. I headed off to the hardware store in search of some more inspiration and found it in the form of a small elbow joint with a plastic nut on the end ... My goal was to maintain the swivel end of the Ultra Gauge attachment arm.
With the elbow joint in a vise, I used a heat gun to soften the plastic which allowed me to bend the elbow out a little and I cut the end of the elbow joint. Removed the A pillar cover and used a hole saw, trimmed the back.... cut the threaded end of the elbow down for clearance and did a test fit.. I cut the flexible attachment arm to the length of the elbow and used JB Weld to hold it all together... Painted satin black..

Awesome! I like the direction you took with your version of the mount.

Back in July I found a new factory Oak grab handle on Cruiser Parts web site and ordered it.... they never send email confirmation's ..so I waited two weeks and called them and found out they were back ordered and coming in from Japan in another month .....
The short story is it just arrived today.....part of the long story is the oak never arrived and this one has been painted with a custom color paint design for vinyl application and it looks and feels good . Time will tell if it holds up.

Wiring Solution for Roof Rack LED Lights

With the arrival soon of a new LED light bar, a pair of LED pod lights and a pair of 2x2 LED lights ....a wiring solution was needed and one that i could easily disconnect to remove the roof rack.
My idea was to buy a small Pelican Case and install relays and a small fuse block and use Weather Pack connectors and a Waterproof Cable Gland for the power wire through the roof....I ran this idea by Vince at IPOR who is my go to guy for wiring...he thought it was a great idea....I thanked him and hung up the phone... The reality is I don't know jack about wiring..... so I went searching on the net and found this..

This guy gives you a step by step on how to do this....I've have received everything needed with the exception of the switches for inside the cab....so a great weekend project ahead.

I'm ready.

Here you go TAL4x4 866-339-4925 Ask for Jason I just spoke to him this morning the prices are the same with free shipping.. I paid $679.99

Lou

Thanks, Lou.

Going to run by Ramsey (Tulsa Winch) this morning in a last ditch effort to support another local company, but not holding my breath.

Sure I'll be on phone with Jason by noon.

Pardon if you'd previously covered, but do you have, or plan a dual battery?

Funny you ask.. I have acquired everything that's needed.. except the battery.. waiting for Sears to post another sale... Purchased the new battery box and water bottle relocate kit from Slee... and pickup Blue Sea switch and remote battery management along with the terminals and fuses from Amazon.... Wiring from West Marine

Lou

Have the box and washer kit from Slee installed, too, but haven't made my mind up on management.

Personally, it would bother me to keep it real simple, even if that meant breaking out the cables from the secondary to jump a dead primary, but the Blue Sea route holds promise with the simple under hood switch.

Be interested to see how yours develops.

Wiring Solution for LED Lights on the Roof Rack

I have decided to leave it in the hands of a pro.... spoke to Greg at Teamconcourse.com about a wiring solution and he's making a plug and play harness with realys in a waterproof box...
with a few extra attachments for 12v plugs and future accessories and a custom switch plate

Something like this

Thanks Ryan.. You should be there...she'll be there!!!

Perusing thread for pics and info to forward to fiberglass artist, and saw.

I'm hoping Ryan WAS there and there's a thread in OT discussing.

( I'll delete shortly. Could t resist cause she's hawt).

Not sure what you guys are talking about:) here's my take on a switch plate ... Sent the console to Ohio for the switch plate and should come back with a pretty nice relay box, with connections to run the 3 pairs of smaller LED's....,the 42" light bar a front and rear 12 volt plugs and a USB

Nice work......on all of them.

Lou,
Your uncanny ability with subjects, arrangement, and photographic eye lend to the belief there's more (or less, lots less) photographic works of art on the hard drive.

I'm an amateur critic, and more than happily offer services to peruse the entire library.

PMing email now. Bahahaha.

Are you tying the switch bank power to IGN, or constant hot?

Edited: Is that lap top tucked in Genie's drawers?
Haha.

Just updated my iPad's storage and moved the desk top to the bunker.. for safe keeping of the pic's.

You never fail to ask the right questions related to my build ..and I seriously appreciate it..as I had not given much thought to the lights on a constant hot lead..
Now that I have .. the four 10w Pods which will be down lights on the corners for camping and the two 2x2 16w firing off the back of the rack will all be constant hot...

What did you do about a winch?

Thanks for keeping me on.... "Do it right the first time"

You're no fun.

One aspect of the Source ( sPod) was a constant hot (though reasoning was interference with CAN-BUS when tied to the IGN circuit, considering the total current draw of six circuits), but utilizes a low voltage shut off. When amperage drops to x (don't recall) it automatically disables the relay bank.

Don't know how it's done, but a cool feature considering it was difficult to not use the 40" Bar for lighting purposes other than off road. Saved me hassle a few times, but even without, the ability to fire the lights anytime, is worth bypassing IGN.

Warn 9.5 XP-S

The rationale.

First, based on one hard core outing in the rocks, I'm going to be pulling line a lot. The short wheel base of the local wheelers is an advantage over my station wagon, and realized the degree after getting hung on a ledge, that I should've pulled line on, but didn't have.

I can't say that it'll provide any faster pulls, be anymore reliable than any other brand, BUT the second, and more important, reason for the decision is a local wheelers ability to tear it down and get it going again, with ease.

Figured it's like everything else. Plan for it to fail, and have a plan to fix. It will get a good amount of use considering my track record, and if I can drop off locally for repair, easy decision.

Haha.

I have an alligator mouth and a tadpole ass, in that department.

It's important to know "for what" you're building, to know "how" to do it right.

Have sent links to this page to the aforementioned fiberglass fabricator to mimic pods, since I didn't do that right, the first time.
Haha.
