Been creeping around the forum for a while but I felt I finally needed to formally introduce myself and my rig. I have used the content in the forum quite a bit, but for sure look to engage more as the tasks become a little more involved and push my knowledge and abilities the their limits. Owning an 80 Series was something I had wanted for many years and finally pulled the trigger a little more than a year and a half ago, and have had a great time working on her so far. Found though constant web searching, six months’ worth, and ended up buying from an importer in WA state then a baseline completed @torfab. Been fairly lucky with the mechanics so far thankfully, but sometime I do feel “I don’t know what I don’t know”. So…
Basics. 1990 JDM (Import) RHD HDJ81, 98000Kms, 1HDT Dual Batt 24V Starter, 5 Speed Manual Trans, Triple Locked. Named her Rei. I must admit that my Daughter and Granddaughters named her for me after a favorite anime character of theirs.
Exterior. Bellfab Front Bumper w/ComeUp Slim 9.5K Winch, Higgy’s Dual Swing Rear Bumper, ARB Base Roof Rack, White Knuckle Rock Sliders, TorFab FJ62 LED Headlights, Baja Designs SAE LED Cornering Amber Fog Lts, Yellow deleted Tail/Side/Front turn signals, Deleted Fender Flairs
Wheels/Suspension/Underside. Raceline 959MC Wheels on 35s, OME 3” Springs, Fox 2.0 Shocks, Dobinsons Steering Damper, Trail Taylor Crusin Skid Plate, ARB Diff Breather Kit and Extended Brake Lines, Delta 3” Rear Panhard Lift Bracket, Metal Tech 4x4 Rear Link Bundle, Delta 3” Long Radius Arms
Interior. Delta Center and Manual Shifter Console, Wolfbox G850 Dashcam/Rear Camera, Kenwood Control Head, Audison 4 Speakers and Sub, Soundproofing Hood and Doors
Future Mods. Upgraded alternator and wiring, RTT, Regear to 4.88s, Tailgate Storage, and who knows what else!
So this is the major item list of completed work, some done at a shop, and a lot at the house. Thanks to all for the quiet help so far and I look forward to drawing from the many experts located here!
