Greetings all,
I've am in need of some contact information and I am hoping y'all can help me.

I was in a group buy for the Pakistani Soft Tops way back in September of 2006. Well...I've FINALLY gotten around to installing it and the zippers are shot. The top was garage kept in its original plastic bag, inside a storage crate and out of the elements.

First - I'm looking for contact information for Hilery Wilson of Snellville, Georgia. Hilery can confirm my participation in the group buy.

Second - I'm looking for a contact for Ehsan to see if he might be able to get me new zippers.

I'm getting really, really close to finishing up what has been a very, very long project and I'm hoping to get some replacement zippers soon to complete the job and start driving soon.

Any assistance y'all could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking y'all in advance,
Logan

You'd be way ahead in terms of frustration to just take it down to the local boat shop with your check book...

I second the suggestion. Good luck getting in getting a reply from Ehsan. Sent him an email inquiring about purchasing half doors, a tailgate, etc. a couple of months ago and I've yet to get a reply. As much as I hate to say it, if he's not interested in new business, I doubt he cares much about past customers either. Probably get better quality and quicker resolution locally.

I wouldn't involve Hilary, I'm sure the thread for that group buy it still around. Ehsan's email is ehsankiani@gmail.com. You are better off just fixing it yourself. Ehsan might send you some zippers, but they'd be the same ones you have now and they'd break again. It will also take months for him to get them to you.

Yep, just buy some good YKK zippers (#10) 36" long (like these - YKK #10 Molded Extra-Heavy Separating ~ 36") and take them to your favorite upholsterer. I bought the above zippers and it cost me about $85 to have them all installed last fall. Call around, because I was quoted as high as $500 to have the zippers replaced. And, as you've figured out, the stock zippers on the Paki top are pieces of $hit.

Thank you all for your help. I knew it was a long shot, but thought I would give it a try.
Thanks too for the zipper suggestions. That is the way I'll go forward with this.

Are those zippers made in the USA ?

They don't actually say "made in USA" just "USA". They do however break when you pull on them.

Well that is discouraging. Mine is in its bag in the spare bedroom nearing time for installation :bang:

Do yourself a favor and have new zippers installed before you install the soft top. They WILL break. All 6 of mine (they had WAZIR stamped on them not USA) blew out within a couple of weeks of installing the soft top. First the zipper splits and then you break the pull tab trying to fix it. I have not had any problems with the YKK zippers I put in.

Second the zipper replacement suggestion. We had all of the zippers replaced on ours with YKK zippers, and had a few adjustments made, plus replaced the straps and stuff for $560 total.

Way easy. No more broken "USA" tabs lying around on the shop floor.

I emailed Ehsan a couple of weeks ago and never heard a peep. I've never deal with him before, but if my experience is representative I would agree with others recommendations to fix it yourself with higher quality zippers.

Perhaps I'm being unfair, but at this point I'm less than impressed.

Alex,

I started a thread inquiring about Pak Tops (I was unfamiliar with the company), as I was looking for some half doors and I liked the ones on your website best. Per your suggestion on that thread, I tried emailing Ehsan.

I'd still love to get a set like the ones pictured.

I remember now. There are next to impossible to get. I know Ehsan doesn't have any doors. He would have to order 100 sets to get them made.

There's a guy in CT with a set for sale. I forget his name. He is or was a Mud member. He has a blue cruiser, maybe Alex remembers his name?
