My piggy restoration...going slow...

Here are the pics from visiting the piggy yesterday. It's hard to see some of the progress because of the light, but basically there is a new floorboard in the back, the fronts are patched up, the sills are rebuilt, the rockers are replaced, the fenders are patched, and various parts and pieces are now metal instead of rust.

And as far as the other build I have going on right now, the baby is coming along just fine. She's due March 29th and I hope to have the pig back in the stable and being put back together before her arrival.

Heather, it is looking saweeet ....and great news about the wee one:).....love the way your floorboards have turned out...........couple of questions; did you solve the aisin carb linkage problem?, does your radiator have an overflow system?............the girls say hey and are asking when can they babysit:cheers:

Sorry for taking so long to get back to the thread. But I do have an update so I thought I'd share.

Lou, your girls are too sweet! I'll have to actually have a child before the babysitting commences, but tell those girls that I sure appreciate the offer! If only they lived in Atlanta! I did solve the linkage problem, it turns out that I just needed the bell crank and a spring, which I was able to find. To be honest, I don't know if my radiator has an overflow. It's been so long since I've seen my pig I don't remember...and of course I can't go outside and look!

Now, for the update...I got an email and the pig is primed! All the body work is done and she's ready for paint! Whoooo hooooo!

:cheers::clap::cheers:wooohooo :D...........my redhead 11 year old says hey!.....she helped me last night putting in the the getting the horn and windshield washer working+and hooking up the lines......you are her hero!...a redhead girl "Wrencher".........:steer:

Alrighty, many thanks to Mike (Lingo) for riding along with me today to go check on the piggy to make sure it was OK and almost done. Here are some pics of it now. Whew, what an improvement!

Wow, haven't checked in on the progress in a while...but I must say it looks outstanding thus far...and that is an understatement. Congrats Heather

I cannot wait to helping put it back together. All I've ever done was take them apart.

I cannot wait for your help! I'll be putting together a list of parts that I still need and sending it your way for you to see if you have spares in your parts hoard, don't you worry!

Looking good. Glad to hear you made some progress in the whole "finding your truck" drama. Let us know if you need any misc parts or advice.

She's coming home today! Heading to pick her up shortly!

So where's the :bounce2:? Great to hear that news! Let me know when you want that pass side door glass. You know, I was hoping you wouldn't have an unfortunate experience taking your :pig: there. It coulda been worse :meh: So we can expect new updates on you adding the finishing touches ;p?

She's home. And it wasn't the best experience, but no one will have to go through it again. They are out of business. I think I was the last truck to leave. But at least we got it back. It was dicey there for a while. Huge props to the folks here for all the help. Lingo, gmarshall7 and Hugh all came out to help and had my back should I have needed them. I will be forever in their debt.

Chuck, I found out that I need the driver side glass. Do you have one of those handy?

That's fantastic news!!

Hopefully that experience won't spoil your enthusiasm for your Piggy rebuild.Talk about a crazy, storied history that will follow this rig through the years.

Keep up the great build. It should feel stress free after this.
