We picked this truck up locally. It wasn't exactly on the open market for sale but it was too nice to not pick up.

It already has a power booster and a dual circuit master cylinder with 77 FJ40 Disk brakes on the front. It has a new THC carb and Electronic ignition. New Seat covers, New door panels and a small pile of unobtainable LV parts.

I drove it ~50 miles yesterday and another 20-30 today and it runs and drives like a champ. It needs nothing to be a solid reliable daily driver (which it will be for a while) but is nice and RUST FREE enough to make as nice as you would want (which is the long term goal).

Now for pics.

Congratulations! I was just wondering if the deal had been struck (and selfishly hoping it hadn't). Subscribed!

Super nice LV. I helped one of the owners do something on it in '04 when I was stationed in Virginia. I don't remember what though, I think it was something with the brakes. At the time the owner was either a Major or Lt Col in the Air Force. It looks as good as it did then. Well I think this is the same rig anyway.

Glad to see it is in the hands of a specialist, to finish it up.

More.

Damn I am hoping this is the same rig. Can't be that many non restored Seafoam/White FJ45LVs out there.

more.

I've got one of the actual VIN tag and separate body # tags, but will only post if given permission.

Looking at the rust pattern on the passenger front fender I am sure it is the same rig!

I've wondered for a long time where this rig went after the owner I knew get stationed in Japan.

I keep editing this post as memories come back about it.

This one was in the Mushro collection for a while. I think the guy I knew that owned it paid somewhere in the $10K range for it in '03 or '04. Not that that helps the value. I thought it to bee in good shape for having that history. Having seen it/sat in it back then I really wanted/lusted after it, but it was and now will be way out of my price league if it ever comes to market again. I love that color combo!

Definitely the same truck however the PO sanded a bunch of paint off of the back for some reason.

Nice score Michael  remember that LV well.....it was the first LV I fell in love with years ago when it was forsale by Isalwaysright here on the board.

Don't think you could have found a better starting point for a restoration that is one solid LV! Enjoy it!!

I have another 66 that is a bit rusty that is getting a 4.7 v8 auto and a full time case from an 80. But that is a very different project.

The thread is a couple below this one.

So is it going to get a regear or smaller tires, or are you going to just keep on revving and feathering the clutch every time you start on a hill. Lol it's kind of interesting to watch.

Nice addition. That's exactly what I'd like to find, but they never seem to surface in my world. Let me know when you decide you have too many projects and this one needs to go....

I replaced the clutch master and slave and have been daily driving it while the weather isn't to hot.

Other than that it needs nothing.
