A few questions for you experts:

1. Would my 2F have had a Distributor Clamp as shown in picture, or just a bolt holding it down?

2. Anybody know the Toyota Part # for 2F Clutch Inspection Cover Plug?

Thanks in Advance!

The big cap dissy that originally came on your 1981 just used a bolt to hold it down. The earler distributers used that style clamp.

Thanks Theo!

At this point I'm posting just to keep myself motivated and to document bold of course!

I had a spray can with the Olive Gray made up a long time ago and painted the latches I made, but it's not an exact match. I will have to take them to my painter when he paints my windshield frame and hardtop pieces.

Man that's some good metal work on those catches. How did you cut those out? It looks like just a simple piece of angle iron but those catches look like they were cut with a plasma cutter.

Nice work on the catches! How are the bottom hinges of the tailgate bolted? Holes drilled with nuts behind? Do you plane on having some kind of weatherstrip on the gate? Where did you get the tailgate? Lookin good!

Thanks. Believe it or not all I used was a drill for round pieces, and a 4 1/2 grinder with a cutting wheel and then smoothed the edges with grinder.

I bought the tailgate with the 3/4 tub when I ordered it from Pilgrim. As such, he welded in captive nuts for the tailgate in all the right places.

I haven't thought out the weatherstrip yet, but yeah I need something in there. It's pretty snug fit, but don't want rattles as that would drive me insane.

Ordered some tailgate cables from Summitt Racing, should be here early next week.

Well I contacted PO about ordering a duplicate title from MO DOT. He still refuses siting it would be fraud for him to request a duplicate title. I don't see it that way at all.

Oh well, I guess I just expected more from fellow mud guy.

How is it fraud? Is his name on the title?

That is crap. He is the currently-titled owner. He requests a duplicate, you reimburse him the fees, he signs it over to your for a cost of $1. If there is any fraud it's the two guys who passed it around on his title, no you, nor he.

If his dad is an attorney, he should be able to provide you a pro-bono counsel on how to solve your problem. It will take him about 0.05 hours.

Where'd you get the left-side tailgate latch? I have at least three right sides. I know I can bandsaw one, reverse and reweld...

He is the last named person on title. However the guy he sold it to in Tennessee never titled it.

It then changed hands one more time before I came along (that guy didn't title it either).

All he would gave to do is order duplicate title then sign as seller and give it to me. I would title it in KY, it's new home.

I dont know about other states or if it still the same but in Idaho you used to be able to apply for a Sherrif's Title. If you have the vehicle and the title it was really easy. They will contact the last known owner, if possable, to see if it is stolen. There is a waiting period if they cant find the former owner, at the end of which they charge you tax on the value and give you a title. I had to get one for a truck I bought that had not been titled by the person I bought it from. That was back in the early 90's though.
