Guster, glad you looked at SOR again, they were out of stock for a long time and the price went up. I wish they reproduced the gaskets for them.

I sent them a message thru their ebay store. Thanks @Lil'John

Mostly just for research purposes right now, but hopefully will be a good foundation for a sniper efi conversion somewhere down the line

thanks @PabloCruise I was hoping that was the case, but wanted to make sure before I just started trying to pull them apart. And yep, I meant bullet...

Finally got some time to work on the clutch.

New rear main, resurfaced flywheel, @cruiseroutfit clutch and fork boot.

Then finally stabbed the trans back home.

Trans jack or not, putting a trans in ranks high on my list of most tedious things in the world to do, but at least with the jack I wasnt holding it and ALSO trying to get thw pilot started..

So now, swap out Speedo housing, rebuild driveshafts, reinstall e-brake, oil change, top off fluids and just generally putting things back together and I should be ready to take her for a spin around the block. Then I can get some miles on it while I'm planning the next thing that needs attention. Disc swap is leading the pac currently.

(And yes thw pics are wide angle because I managed to destroy the lense to take regular pics on my phone)

@wngrog thoughts on lizard skinning the underside of the trans tunnel with the heat shield product before reinstallation?

It’s not much surface area. Not sure I would recommend spending all the $ for just that area.

I do recommend adding Noico inside

Ebay grille is a win. Showed up today.

This is gonna be a wall hanger for sure.

And the marker lights are in excellent shape.

Very pleased.

Fired the ole' Moose up today to let things circulate. Fired right up. Since the tunnel is still out, I was able to make sure everything seemed to be working properly. Clutch in = no spin, clutch out = spinny spin. Still got to get the joints replaces in the shafts and get it back on all 4s, but so far so good.

Sad face... Too long with no work on da pig. Not much today, just so cosmetic stuff. Installed my "new to me" PS tail light lense. I'm not sure where this one came from, but it is damn near perfect.

Made the DS look like S, so I got out the 3M kit and buffed it down. Not quite as nice but much better than it was. Old PS for comparison.

Then I pulled the grill and silvered it back up. I also got the replacement lense on the PS of the grill.

Need to let it cure out, then tape off and black out the inset. Need to get some new bulbs for all the light sockets, then I should be set.

Going to try and swap the Speedo housing and rebuild the driveshafts this week, so maybe I can take 'im for a spin this weekend.

Also, good thing I went ahead and got that double seal housing...

That silver on the grille looks great! What color is that?

What headlights are you running?

Thanks man, got turned onto it by another pig pal.

Paint is Duplicolor

Headlights are KC

Any trick to getting the Speedo gear out?

0317191533~2.webp

I am guessing it "should" come straight out once the retainer is removed, but mine isn't moving...

Also, how does this gear look? Should I just see about getting a new one?

Also, can I buy just that rear gasket, or just slap some fipg on it and call it good?

Thanks,
