Stitched up my old steering wheel with Wheelskins cover. It's a very nice product. I had never done any sewing so it wasn't until about half way through the wheel I figured out what I was doing.
It isn't perfect and I might order another one in the future now that I know some things I would do differently:
Don't let the waxed string knot it is ridiculous to untangle
Couple wraps of painters tape on the first two holes you thread would make it easier to pull tight earlier
Keep constant tension on the string. Pull it tight, hold it with your left hand until you get the next hole laced.
For me the best position to have the wheel in was 1-2oclock.
Easy and cheap, I will probably do it again.
