After ceramic coat

New OEM radiator, the first one made it 16 years so I have high hopes for this one. ha

New battery, correcting the issues that Tapage pointed out at the beginning that the Optima is not rated for a winch on the front connections.

Just an up to date pic of the engine bay.

I will email you the parts list I got from Cdan even though I didn't end up ordering from him. (Sorry Cdan!)

Weak.

:meh:

Here is a comprehensive list I have posted up in different threads. This is for a long block rebuild the "Beno" way but can easily be poached for a minimal or maximum HG job.

How much would something like this cost?

Yeah I didn't order from Dan, because I ended up needing a radiator and things that would have been expensive and difficult to ship, additionally I think I saw you say that you had had radiators ship and when they arrive they are damaged. Maybe next time.

Had 2 of those DieHard in Tencha and beat those to death ( sets of 20 mins winching ) .. and still took some more time to kill 'em !

hijack over !

just to give a little insight i had a pile of parts from cdan kind of like that and it was $1000 for the pile. that was without a lot of gaskets i still had to buy, the radiator, without a starter or power steering pump, without any bearings or valve shims, ect..

I am about $6k with what has been done, including the radiator, exhaust, Toyota parts, head work, injector cleaning, and labor. about $5k from the shop and $1200 in parts that I brought them.

It is a little high but I am pretty confident that it will last for a long time.

really don't want to pollute your thread but i was in the same boat after all the machine work, ect.. i saved a little by doing most of the rebuild myself, but i had to debate in my head whether or not it was worth dropping a crate v8 in place for the money i was spending. I decided having the reliable power plant that came with the truck, knowing i can buy parts from toyota if on a trip and knowing i can always reliably boost the motor with either a turbo or a supercharger if i just had to have more power kept me with 1fzfe.

Oh yeah I know what you mean Concrete. I went into this thinking it was going to be like $3k, but ended up more than doubling that. But to do a good motor swap I don't think you could do it for what the "rebuild" cost me. If you get a junkyard V8, you still have an unknown motor. I do know I look at the LX450, and you can't get anything comparable used for what I have spent.

Nice.

And it is 99%

So close, final touches being handled! EMS upgraded me to their intake which looks very clean! A little bling :) But I think I am going to have them ceramic coat it since it is right above the exhaust.

I will spare you any more videos on this part of the project but she is hummming like a sewing machine!
